Jamie stood down on the ice saluting to the crowd as they won there last game of the season to the Florida Panthers. I watched as Jamie skated over and pick up a microphone so he could make a small speech before the players give away there jerseys. He skated back to Center ice with a small smile on his face. He waved to the crowd with a smile on his face before dropping his hand back to his side.
"I just want to say thank you so much for sticking with us to the very end. I know we didn't get where we wanted to be this year. I'm very happy that we got to share this last game with you guys and I'm already excited for next season. Next season is our year for sure I can just feel it. They will be saying your new Stanley cup champions are the Dallas Stars. I'm gonna miss you guys a lot this summer. Thank you once again for the support and everything you guys have done for us. Without you guys I don't know where i'd be." He spoke into the microphone with a smile before saluting the crowd one last time before tossing the microphone to one of the employees. The whole arena erupted in chanting Stars! Stars! Stars! I smiled as Jamie found me in the crowd pointing at me with a smile. I blew a kiss to him making him smile really big. As the players started handing out there jerseys I made my way down to the locker room to where I always meet Jamie. It didn't take me very long to get down to the locker room due to the fans staying to watch the players hand out there jerseys. Ten minutes had passed before the players made there way into the hallway and headed into the locker room. Jamie was the last one off the ice and he walked right up to me with a smile.
"You did amazing babe." I spoke with a smile kissing his lips gently as he pulled me in for a hug holding me in his arms tightly.
"Come with me." He spoke quietly in my ear as he pulled back slowly finding my hand. He led me into the locker room where the players sat at there lockers talking to each other. Some of the staff and coach members stood around and Jamie led me to his locker. He sat down letting me sit on his leg putting an arm around my waist. Tyler sat next to us along with Jordie on the other side of us.
"Jamie did you want to say anything?" One of the coaches asked and he nodded his head standing up slowly telling me I could sit at his locker. He walked to the front of the room in his gear with his hair slicked back. He had a smile on his face as he stood in front of everyone.
"Normally most people would do this better dressed or even at a fancier place. But I honestly didn't know how else to do this. (Your name) will you please come up here?" Jamie spoke quietly with a smile and I stood up slowly walking up to him. He took my hand in his flashing me a warm smile.
"I knew since the moment I had met you a little over three years ago that you were the one. From all the times we have laughed together to when we have even cried. You are in my head every second of the day. On road trips you are the only one I get so worried about. Ask any of the guys I talk about you every second I get. I'm pretty sure all of these guys know exactly how much you mean to me." He spoke with a smile making me smile as tears collected in the corners of my eyes. He got down on one knee pulling out a dark blue box opening it with a smile. Sitting in it was a ring and I gasped as a few tears escaped my eyes.
"(Your name) will you do the honours of marrying me?" He spoke with a smile and I nodded my head.
"I'd love too." I spoke making him let out a sigh of relief. He stood up kissing me and the guys cheered and I felt something get sprayed on me. I looked to see Tyler and a few others spraying champaign on everyone.
"Mister and misses Benn!" They cheered making me smile and Jamie held me tightly in his arms. I don't know if I could be any happier.
