Chapter 8

"Hey you two!" The bell above the door signaled someone entering the shop. Quickly, you turned to look to see who it was.

"Hey Jimin." Hoseok greeted as he came out of the back with a box of stuffed animals. You greeted him as well then went back to stocking more flowers. You didn't pay attention to the conversation, focused solely on your task.

Suddenly, you heard your name and that made you snap your head towards the two. "You'll come right?"

What did you just miss? "Sorry I wasn't paying attention." You apologized.

Jimin waved you off. "I was talking to Hoseok about hanging out with a couple of our friends at a bar after work. You can meet new people since you're still kind of new to the city, right?" Bar... You think you haven't learned what that was. It kind of excited you so you accepted the invitation. "Cool, see you guys then!"

For the rest of the day, you were excited. You're not sure what a bar was and you'll be able to meet with other people! You think they'll be as friendly as Hoseok and Jimin! Happily, you walked besides Hoseok since he suggested you two walk there together. You two came near a building with a brightly colored sign illuminating the name. You didn't get much time to read what the name was when Hoseok opened the door for you. Entering the building, you glanced around noticing booths and tables with people, drinking out of glass cups and... oh? What was that? There were a few large rectangles with green insides and there were balls on the rectangle. Was that also a table? But why did it have balls on it? In your memory, you couldn't recall what that was.

"Hey hyung and noona!" Jimin's familiar voice called out. You turned your attention to where you spotted Jimin waving his hand at you. Noona...? Oh! You remember the term now! There you noticed three faces and you were excited to meet them. Arriving at the booth, Jimin patted the space next to him and you claimed it. Hoseok sat right after you. "So these are our friends." Jimin began.

The first was a guy to introduce himself. "Hi, I'm Kim Jinhwan." He smiled brightly. He looked so friendly!

The girl beside him flashed you a shy smile. "I'm Jisoo."

Then at last the final girl introduced herself. "Ae Ri." She said it in a tone that you've never heard before. It kind of bugged you since usually all the tones of voices were friendly and helpful. You just never heard this kind of thing before.

"Hi, I'm [kim] Y/N. Nice to meet you all." You still flashed a friendly smile. Perhaps the girl was having a bad day so you totally understand! As the conversation got rolling, Jinhwan asked where you were working.

"Oh! I'm working at the flower shop with Ms. Wang." You replied.

Jinhwan and Jisoo were shocked at the information while Ae Ri looked at you in an unconvincing way. Almost like she didn't believe you. "You're lying. Wang doesn't like anybody even though I tried to get a job there but she refused me." She let out a huff of displeasure.

Hoseok chuckled. "No, it's true. Ms. Wang loves Y/N." You were getting a bit shy of these compliments since you've never really had that much back in the ocean but it was still nice!

Ae Ri stared at you for a moment longer before rolling her eyes. "Whatever." Then she got up and headed to the... bar? Was that the name?

"I'll go talk to her." Hoseok said and got up from his seat to follow her.

"Sorry about Ae Ri. It looks like she's jealous." Jisoo chimed in. At first she was shy in the beginning but she grew a bit more comfortable.

"Jealous?" You echoed the word back. Jealous of what?

You were trying to figure it out until Jinhwan said the answer. He leaned forward to whisper it. "Yeah, Ae Ri and Hoseok used to go out. She might be jealous of you."
