"I know that it's not the best," Jimin had glanced outside to the rain and handed you a cup of some weird white solid. "But ice cream always cheers people up."

Ice cream? You took the cup, your mind thinking of the weird triangle with the scoop and a cherry on top. It didn't look anything like it. Still, you took a bite with the small spoon and your taste buds automatically succumbed to the taste. This was oddly helping you.

For a while, the two of you sat there in silence with a couple of other people who were also enjoying the cold ice cream in the shop. It continued like this until both of you finally finished the desert. "Thank you." You said, making a mental note to get some ice cream for when you're home.

Jimin just smiled at you. "No worries. I have to cheer up my friend."

You smiled back. Jimin was a good friend and you're really glad that you met him. In all honesty, you did feel a bit better. Back home, your older sisters would probably leave you alone while your younger sister and brothers would try to cheer you up. Jimin almost felt like a sibling to you. The two of you stayed for a few minutes more, with Jimin taking up most of the conversation as he jumped from topic to topic.

At last, Jimin was now waving bye as he walked away from your apartment building. You watched him go and then entered the building. Up you went to your apartment and came home to silence. You dropped the umbrella in the rack and headed towards the window to close the blinds. As you were doing so, you paused taking a look at the ocean. It looked peaceful but your interest piqued as there was a certain spot that looked off to you. Huh, from here it looked like a mermaid just dived back into the water as soon as a group of people came near the water.

It was a bit strange to you. It's not your problem anyway. You closed the blinds and took a seat on the couch. You leaned your head back so you were staring at the ceiling now. Alone with your thoughts, you begin to remember everything and you're not sure how long you sat there but a conclusion came to you. It was okay if Hoseok didn't like you back. You were happy to have him as a friend. Though you're not sure if you want to renew the deal. Perhaps you could come back every two years? You're not sure either.

About a month had passed already and you were thankful that Hoseok and you didn't go into an awkward state. Okay maybe the first couple of days, it was all on you. Hoseok acted like nothing had happened at all and you were being the awkward one. Though after the first few days, you returned to the normal friendly atmosphere.

All this month, it has been rainy. Dark clouds hung over the city and you wondered if this was normal on land. Plus, you hung around the friend group a few times and got to know more about Jisoo and Jinhwan. Ae Ri wasn't too friendly with you still and you're not sure why but you've let her be. It was always a surprise when Jisoo or Jinhwan came into the shop since they hardly come here so you were shocked to see Jinhwan here today.

"What are you doing here?" You asked as Jinhwan put his umbrella in the rack.

He smiled at you. "I was here wondering if you and Hoseok would like to go on a little boat ride to a tropical island."

You blinked at him, trying to process what he was saying. Boat ride? Tropical island? Thankfully, Jinhwan has been a good observer of people so when he saw the quick flicker of confusion on your face, he explained. "My family is sponsoring a new resort on this island and I'm inviting all my friends to it."

"Oh." You're still not sure what he means. What is his family sponsoring?!

"What he means is that his family is rich and he wants to go on a vacation." Hoseok's voice popped out of nowhere and you jumped from hearing that.

Jinhwan laughed. "I mean yeah but our Y/N gets confused sometimes. Don't make it so complicated. Did you guys want to go?"

Hoseok looked out of the window. "I hope you're not thinking this week. It's still supposed to be raining all week."

"Nope, next week. I checked the weather next week and it's going to be all sunshine and clouds." Jinhwan looked at Hoseok then you. "So, did you guys want to go?" He repeated his question once more.

Hoseok agreed while you stayed quiet. You're not sure if you wanted to do so. When you mentioned that Jinhwan was good at reading people, you really meant it. "C'mon, it'll be fun Y/N. I'm paying for everything so don't have to worry except having fun." He smiled. "Will you join us?"

A tropical island did sound fun and you have never been on a boat before... It does sound fun. "Okay, I'll go!"

"Awesome!" Jinhwan clapped his hands together. "I'll text you everything and- Oh, that's right, you don't have a phone right Y/N? Here, I'll write it down for you." Jinhwan asked Hoseok for a piece of paper.

Text and phone? You heard the word "phone" before but you can't recall it was. After Jinhwan was done, he gave the piece of paper to you. You gratefully accepted the paper and took a quick glance at the place and time you are supposed to go next week. Jinhwan waved good-bye and disappeared back into the rain.

You put away the paper and now you felt some excitement again. You had a feeling this was going to be fun with these friends of yours! Nothing could go wrong!
