"Y/N!" A worried voice startled you out of your daze. You looked up to see it was Jimin. He immediately came over to you and tugged you into a hug. "You made me worried!" He pulled back a bit. "Never do something like that again!"

You shook your head. "But I'm a great swimmer."

"Still, you could have drowned!" He glanced around. "Is Hoseok..."

"Hoseok is getting checked out by a doctor." You pointed towards the room that you left earlier. Jimin sighed in relief and moments later the rest of the group came. They all seemed worried about you (even Jisoo) and you reassured them you were fine.

At last, the doctor you saw before came out of the room and spotted you. You scrambled to stand up when they came closer. "His condition is fine. He suffered a bit of dehydration and fatigue. He's resting currently."

"Thanks, Dr Jeon." Jinhwan spoke up.

This Jeon person raised his eyebrows. "Oh, is he your friend Jinhwan?"

"Yes." Jinhwan nodded. "Could you also check on us as well? The storm caught us on the way to the island." His eyes glanced over at you. Oh, perhaps he was concerned that you jumped in after Hoseok.

Jeon motioned for you to follow him into the room. You were a bit nervous since this is your first time to even be seen by a doctor. He asked a few questions, checked your eyes and things like that and you were good to go. "For jumping into the ocean during a storm like that was reckless." He put a... weird three floppy thing around his neck. "Though I'm surprised that you're all well and everything."

You're not telling him it's because you're a mermaid so you awkwardly smiled and he let you go. Outside in the hallway, you patiently waited as everyone went in one by one. Your eyes couldn't help but glance towards the door that Hoseok was behind.

Not even a second later, the door had opened and Hoseok walked out. Everyone just froze for a moment before everyone gathered around him. Hoseok let out a small sigh. "I'm fine." You just got up and joined the gathering. "I just wanted to see if you guys were okay." His eyes landed on you for the briefest moment before ripping his gaze away. That kind of hurt.

"You're supposed to stay in bed." The doctor came back with Jisoo in tow. She was happy to see that Hoseok was okay. "I want to keep you overnight. Everyone can go." He started to wave off everyone to which everyone did reluctantly. You watched Hoseok disappear back into the room while Jinhwan went to grab the keycards for the rooms. Something was tugging at your heart and you felt that something was coming. You're just not sure what though.

The next morning, you groaned and rubbed your tired eyes. This was possibly the one time you didn't sleep well while you were on land. Getting ready for the day, you waited until everyone was ready. Apparently sometime during the night, Hoseok had returned to his hotel room as he was cleared. So it scared you when he emerged from the room. "Are you feeling better Hoseok?"

He simply nodded and waited with you. "You know, I think I experienced some hallucinations." He started off the conversations.

"Hallucinations?" You questioned.

"Yeah, I thought I saw you have a fish tail yesterday."

Your heart got stuck in your throat. "What? That's crazy!" You tried to laugh it off but even to your own ears, you sounded weird.

"It is huh?" Hoseok gave you a small smile. "It was weird plus before I passed out, I saw fish walking on the beach so I thought it was weird."

You awkwardly laughed and agreed with him. You weren't being weird, were you? You think you are not at the moment. Poseidon must be laughing in your face right about now. Thankfully, you were saved by everyone else who joined you two. "Alright, so the storm passed but they said that everything is still open! So who wants to go hiking?" Jinhwan asked the group.

Chugging more water, you decided that you didn't like the heat that much. "Just a few more steps!" Jinhwan called out loudly.

"You said that five minutes ago!" Jisoo huffed. You had to agree with her as you kept hearing the annoying phrase every few feet. You're thinking that you may snap at any moment. A few minutes later, the destination became clear. Now, here you stood on top of a somewhat large mountain (it wasn't that tall compared to the others) so it was better than climbing the others. From here, you could see most of the beautiful island and other tourists admiring the view as well.

Most of the group began to pull out those small rectangles and start pointing them at the view. You know now that they're called phones but you still don't know what they did. At this point, you were still thirsty and chugged down the rest of the water you had. Thankfully, you had another one so you were going to get it out when you realized you made a great mistake. You left it back in the dining room of the hotel. This was so great!

The sun was beating down on you and you're not sure if the heat was getting to you but everything seemed a bit annoying. Looks like you have to deal with the stupid heat. Something cold touches your arm and you jump in surprise.

"Here." Hoseok was holding a water bottle out to you. "You didn't bring your other bottle, did you?"

"No, I forgot it." You gratefully accepted it and this time took small sips. This time, you're going to ration this out. You held it out for Hoseok who shook his head.

"It's just for you." He smiled.

Nope, if Hoseok said that he did not like you in that way, you're going to respect him! Calm down heart! You felt your heart skip a beat at his kind gesture. From now on, you're going to make sure you're not close to Hoseok and keep a good distance but still be a good friend. Yeah, that sounds like a good plan.

Or it would have been except for the fact that Hoseok was with you the entire day. From the return of hiking, sitting with you and Jisoo on the beach as the others explored the ocean, even to sitting next to you at lunch! You figure that Posidian must be in talks with the Land God and they're enjoying making you suffer. So, you sucked it up and put on a friendly smile. This was totally fine! You thought in your head as everyone walked along the small town next to the ocean. Here it was more lively with a bunch of colorful lights and music filling the air.

Down here there were a few bars, restaurants and shops compared to the fancy hotel which only had one restaurant. After eating dinner at one of the restaurants, the group decided to go into shops and Jisoo returned from one across the way with some news. "Does anyone want to come with me to see jellyfish?"

"Jellyfish?" Jimin questioned. "Where?"

"Someone said that if we go down to the boardwalk, there's usually a group of them that hang around. They're the ones that glow!"

Once she mentioned glow, you knew what she was talking about. Those types of jellyfish you sometimes see when you're swimming in the night of the ocean. They're okay, you just had a bad run in when you were a kid and got stung by one. Totally okay. You could see no one else was willing to go and Jisoo looked a little disappointed. Now you feel kind of bad. "I'll go with you." You smiled at her.

Jisoo brightened up immediately. "Really?! Okay, let's go!" She grabbed your hand and started leading you to where she heard from people that they were. So you got dragged along but it was okay. This would be a good time to stay away from Hoseok a bit.

"Wait up!" Hoseok called out.

Or not.
