There are lots of signs that you are close to shifting, both physical and mental.
Here are the ones that I have experienced and I've heard others experience too.
Seeing a bright light.
Objects or people forming.
Hearing, seeing, or smelling something different.
Feeling outside your physical body.
Forgetting where you are.
Tingles.
Feeling detached from your CR.
Feeling very calm.
Subliminal/music fading away.
Hearing ringing.
Feeling distant from your CR.
Feeling like a different person/something has changed within you. (something is not the same)
Twitching.
Change in temperature.
Numbness.
Elevated heart rate.
Feeling like you are floating or falling.
Minor shaking.
Strong urge to move or get up. (don't, trust me)
Dizziness.
Swirly feeling/feeling like everything is spinning.
Feeling as if someone is touching you or pushing you.
Headache.
If any of these symptoms start to become painful, DO NOT CONTINUE! Give yourself a break and try again another night. And even if it isn't painful I still recommend taking breaks, it won't hurt your shifting (it will probably help).
