*The Match*
"Wait, So you're telling me that you met with Free before the match?" I asked Valt who was sitting somewhat guiltily on the bench.
We were finally here at the finals, right behind the doors that would eventually reveal us and begin the match, and you'd expect our team to be clutching our tails in anxiousness but instead, we were interrogating Valt about his meet-up with Free.
"Well, yeah. It was by chance, honest! I was just gonna train at that spot in the woods when I saw him there!" He tried to prove himself innocent, not that I know what he thought he was guilty of.
Truly I was just surprised Free had somehow snuck onto BC Sol grounds right before the big match. Surely there were some rules against that. Sabotage and what-not.
"Why do you care so much, huh Ally?" Taro placed an arm around my shoulders and grinned. "Jealous?" Cuza 'oohed' in the back.
I sighed, grabbed Taro's hand, and flipped it behind his back. I held him in this position as I continued to talk, blatantly ignoring his shrieks of pain.
"Not jealous, just a bit confused. But never mind, let's focus on the match at hand." I tried telling them only to be met with laughter at our position.
I sighed and shook my head, releasing Taro in the process as he shook his fist at me. But ultimately, I preferred this attitude before the finals rather than a solemn, tense one.
The good thing is that they all know they're nervous and are ok with it. If they were trying to look all macho and water down their feelings we'd most likely lose.
"And yet, here you are. Hiding your nasty jealousy. I just know you're salty because Valt got to see Free in person for the first time in forever and you didn't" I scoffed at her in mock hurt.
"How dare you accuse me of such envy. I could never. Maybe I'm a little salty but I'm seeing him now aren't I? And I could never be jealous of Valt." She agreed with me on that one.
"Instead of that raging jealousy you're desperately trying to push down,-"
"Hey!"
"-Let's focus on the Raging Bulls in front of us. I'm so excited to try out the new improvements you and Raul worked on!" I brought out the bey and stared at it.
Design-wise, it didn't change much. But the inside was definitely different. Now if we can pull it off, you'd be able to see the change.
"Yeah, we can do this." I gulped.
"That sounded sarcastic."
"Shut up."
"Alright guys, listen up." We got into a line with Valt in front of us.
"This is it, the big match. We can do this! As long as we have each other we can get through anything together." The team was washed over in a bit of awkward silence for a bit before Silas stifled a laugh.
"Hey!" And after that, the whole team covered their mouths in an attempt to save Valt's pride. He was red in the face. I went up to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, still trying to swallow my giggles.
"Thank you, Valt. Keep the atmosphere high, ok?" He nodded in embarrassment.
"Hello Beyblade fans here in the famous El Astro in Spain! BC Sol's home turf! And hello to you fans watching from all across the globe! To the finals of the World League!"
