I ran with Ben through the maze, just like i do with Minho, you can't have an intelligent conversation with Ben though but he is very funny and definitely improves my mood.
I turn a corner and look back to see that Ben has disappeared. Great. What's he playing at?!
"BEN! If this a joke I will murder you in your sleep I swear to God!" I shout as loudly as I could. I retrace our steps and still no sign of him. It's too dangerous to go out by myself plus there's many dead ends ahead anyway so I head back to the glade.

"What are you doing back?" I hear Alby shout as he runs over to me. "Ben just disappeared and left me!" I said with a frown on my face. "What?" He replied looking puzzled.

All of a sudden this piercing scream came from the forest, I stood there and squinted my eyes to see if I could see anything and sure enough I see a boy running from the trees followed by another.
"Oh shuck!" I ran over to the boy and as I got closer I saw it was Thomas and he was being chased by.....BEN!

Newt beat me to it as Thomas toppled to the ground with Ben writhing on top of him, Newt hit Ben over the head with a spear and he fell to the side.

"Ben where the shuck did you go?!" I spat at him holding him down, Newt and Frypan were helping me. I looked at his face and saw his skin was pale and his eyes were full of veins. I recognised what was wrong with him, it was exactly the same thing that happened to Gally 3 years ago.
"Fry lift up his shirt!" I said quietly and felt a tear running down my face. I already knew what was happening I just needed conformation at this point.

Frypan lifted Ben's shirt and as I thought there was the hole surrounded by blue veins.

"He's been stung! In the middles of the day?" Newt questioned looking up at Alby.
"Jeff, you know what to do, boys help take him to the medjack hut." I said standing up wiping a tear from my fave hoping no one noticed. I heard a groan of pain and remembered Thomas was still on the ground.

"You okay!" I said sitting beside him, I saw his arm and it has cuts in it when Ben had dug his fingers into it. "I'll go get Clint." Frypan said. And he dragged Thomas along behind him.

"We don't have any syringes Alby. What are we going to do?" I said hanging my head. "Y/N I don't wanna make things worse but we need to banish him." As soon as Alby said that I shot up.
"NO WAY ITS BEN!!!!" I shouted pacing angrily in front of him and Newt. "Alby we can't! That's barbaric! We haven't banished anyone since Gally!!" I said started to cry.
"Leaders word is final. When Minho returns he will bring Ben to the doors and he will be banished. Keepers will have the poles... Y/N you will be standing in for Runner keeper."
"I will not!" I said protesting.
"Yes you will. Unless you want to banished with him?"
I didn't respond, I thought it best not to.
"Alby..." Newt said cutting in.
"No Newt. If she doesn't help she gets banished." He said and he stormed off.
"Just do what he wants greenie...please!" Newt said standing closer to me. He touched my face and the anger I had for Alby all disappeared. I pulled his face to mine and kissed him passionately.

He eventually pulled away "woah easy greenie!" He said and we both burst out laughing. "Come on you can help us in the gardens" he said and walked hand in hand to the gardens.

That afternoon I went over to the pit where they had put Ben. "Hey man" I said and what I got from him was a grunt, it sounded not human. I opened the door and he was crying. I sat in the pit with him and held his hand.
"Alby won't like this greenie" he said through a cough. "I don't care! I'm so sorry Ben!" And I burst into tears again. "It's okay!" He said hugging me. "No it's my fault! If I hadn't of dragged you out there maybe you'd be okay!" I said through sniffles. "No greenie, don't blame yourself!" And when he said that Alby appeared at the door.
"Get out greenie. You got a death wish?" He said and he pulled me out. I lost it then and started screaming. "You slinthead shuck faced shuck head!!!" I fought against Alby and then Newt came over.
"Sort your girlfriend out shank!" He shouted and pushed me towards Newt.
"Don't treat her like that Alby! He was her friend and yours as it goes. So think about that when your offering him to shucking GrieverS!!" Newt shouted and lifted me up in his arms. I tested my head against his chest and I didn't cry, all my crying today had been spent.

We all stood outside the maze doors, me! Gally, Frypan, Zart, Winston and Newt had a pole.
"What's going on!" Thomas say standing a few feet away. I saw Chuck and he had an upset look across his face, he turned and walked away, I'm glad Alby isn't making Chuck do this.
I watched Thomas watch Minho drag Ben over into the circle.
"No please Minho! Please no! Y/N!" He screamed, the sound was horrifying and I couldn't listen. I felt an arm wrap around my waist. It was Newt, I calmed down almost immediately but the feeling that this was wrong didn't escape me.
"Poles" Alby shouted. And we all held our poles in front of us. The pole wasn't heavy to me in the slightest but I still struggled to hold it up.
We pushed Ben into the maze as the doors were closing and more and more tears fell from my eyes. "I'm sorry" I whispered. I think Newt heard me because he planted a kiss on the side of my head.
When the doors closed Alby stood there. I walked over and shoved the pole at him. "DO NOT ASK ME TO DO ANYTHING FOR YOU AGAIN SHUCK FACED!" I yelled at him and ran, Minho followed and I shouted for him to stop. I ran into my room and Chuck was there. He came over and hugged me tightly.

Chuck is my best friend. He can always make feel better.
