Footsteps came up the stairs until the door swung open and there standing in frame was William. The man I tried my best to avoid all day lay in front of my eyes.
"I didn't expect to see you here." He exclaimed.
"I was just leaving." I laid my controller on the floor and got up with the intention of leaving and never coming back.
"No, no you can't. I'm cooking dinner, it'll only take a few minutes. I Insist you stay." The way he emphasized insist frightened me, I could tell Michael understood something was wrong also by his expression.
"Okay." I pulled a fake smiled.
William escorted me downstairs,
"You can't hide from me." He whispered and winked at me as we down the stairs, I just chose to ignore him.

Dinner was served at the table. William placed down a bowl of spaghetti in front Michael, Elizabeth and I, and of course his seat too. As we ate it was strange to see no one strike up a conversation. Not even Elizabeth. We just ate in silence. William would stare at me sometimes and smirk, but it was nothing out of the ordinary. What I did find strange though was how the Afton house had 5 bedrooms, Michaels, Elizabeth's, Williams, a spare then one that had I lock on it. This was my first time noticing it, I pondered over asking why but it may be a sensitive topic that shouldn't be asked at the dinner table.

Finally, I finished dinner and I could make my escape.
"I need to use the restroom, ill be back." I lied. Of course.
I make my way to the backyard which they had a gate I could leave from. But first I needed a smoke break. I pulled out a cigarette for the second time that day and lit it. Not long after the door opened, and William came out. Déjà vu. He grabbed a cigarette from his pocket and lit it.
"I killed her you know." He said unremorsefully.
"...Who?"
"My whore of a wife." I went wide eyed as I stared at him with disgust.
"She cheated on me, so I slit her throat."
"you are one fucked-up man Afton." I couldn't believe he was just confessing this to me.
"It's William dear." That toothy grin arose on his face again. I wanted to slap him.

I dropped my cigarette on the floor and stood on it. Without a word I walked out the back gate and drove home. I couldn't express my hatred towards that man yet still I couldn't seem to get away from him, or maybe I didn't want to.
