"I can't."

"You are going to have to," insisted Jungkook.

Not being able to find a cup within Jin's country home that wasn't made of glass, Jungkook had resorted to wrapping it in several layers of napkins to try to hide the contents of the glass. Yoongi - who was sitting on the deck steps outside next to Henley still wrapped in Jungkook's hoodie like an oversized blanket - was peering into the glass Jungkook was holding at his eye level, staring at the scarlet red liquid inside. His face was even paler than before, and Jungkook didn't think that was possible.

"Take it back," said Yoongi as he thrusted it at Jungkook, almost sloshing some of it onto the deck.

"It's just from a rabbit," said Jungkook. "Now just close your eyes and drink it. Pretend it's a V8."

"It isn't the consistency of one," said Yoongi. "Nor the color."

"Which is why I said close your eyes," said Jungkook. "Do we need to hold you down and just force it down your throat? You do realize you are a vampire now, or at least you're slowly starting to believe it...right? You've been deprived of your source of nutrition for who knows how long. If you don't drink this, you'll just continue to waste away."

"But I won't be able to die," said Yoongi.

Henley turned to see that Jungkook's jaw was clenched. He was gripping the glass so tightly that Henley was half afraid that he was going to snap it in his hands. She reached out a hand for the glass. Jungkook looked at her, relaxing his jaw muscles as he handed it over to her. She took it in her hands, noticing there wasn't even a quarter of a glass. Yoongi could no doubt swallow it all in one go.

"Yoongi..."

"No," he said as he refused to make eye contact with her. He tucked his knees up under his chin, hugging his legs. His eyes were focused on the ocean and the storm clouds hovering over it.

"You need to trust us," she said. "And you need to drink."

"I can smell it," Yoongi whispered, "And I already feel like I'm going to pass out."

"Maybe that'll work in our advantage for this..." muttered Jungkook under his breath behind Henley. It was just loud enough that she managed to catch what he was saying.

"Yoongi, you need to try. We wouldn't make you if you didn't have to."

"What did I even do to deserve this?" asked Yoongi with a short bark of laughter, shaking his head. "I was always a nice person. I tried to be anyway. I dedicated myself to my studies, and I had goals for my future. Why would someone find it fun to lure me into the woods and...apparently make me some sort of chew toy? Why would they use me and hang me out to dry?"

"I don't know the answer to that," said Henley. "Maybe someday we'll know, but all we do know is this is your reality."

Yoongi studied the ocean for a moment more before turning to look at Henley beside him to see the napkin clad glass she still held in her hands.

"I can't do it."

"You can," said Henley. "I know you can."

Jungkook moved to sit down on the other side of Yoongi to sandwich him in between them. He put a comforting hand on his knee. Yoongi took a deep breath and let it out slowly.

"Is someone going to catch me if I pass out trying to drink this?" asked Yoongi.

"You're sitting down," said Jungkook.

"This happened to me once during a lab though," said Yoongi. "I was sitting down during the dissection, and I passed out. I fell off my lab chair and onto the floor."

Jungkook sighed but moved his hand from off his knee to wrap his arm about Yoongi, securing him from behind like a seat belt.

"Thanks..." mumbled Yoongi as he looked over at Jungkook.

"You're welcome. Now plug your nose so you don't complain about the smell again and drink it," said Jungkook.

Henley held the glass over to Yoongi who looked at it one last time before reaching up one hand to plug his nose, taking the glass in the other.

He had barely put it to his lips when his eyes rolled into the back of his head and he slumped backward into the arm that Jungkook had about him. Henley quickly lurched forward to catch the glass before it shattered and spilled the contents everywhere.

"What vampire is afraid of blood?" asked Jungkook with a sigh as Henley chuckled lightly.

"Our vampire," she said. "Now, can you help me prop him up? I'll make sure this goes down properly."

Jungkook nodded, shifting Yoongi's passed out body up so that Henley could make sure the glass of rabbit's blood was swallowed without him choking. Jungkook looked out towards the ocean as the last drop of blood passed over Yoongi's lips, noticing a dot on the horizon.

"I think the others are returning," said Jungkook. "I wonder how they'll react to Yoongi."

"I'm sure they will welcome him with open arms once they realize what kind of person he is," said Henley.

Jungkook nodded, moving to stand up and cradle Yoongi in his arms. He carried him down the steps and towards the beach like a groom carried their bride. Henley chuckled as she moved to follow after Jungkook towards the beach to meet the others, not even realizing that they had a surprise of their own.
