Elaine rubbed her eyes and groaned as she searched for her phone. She wasn't expecting to get a call from anyone seeing as all her friends knew she hated answering calls when she's asleep.
She huffed and answered the call but didn't look at the caller ID which incredibly surprised her when she heard sniffling.
"Hello?" she asked. She listened as the person cleared his throat, "I'm sorry Bunny." He slurred. She sat up in shock and looked at the phone to see Corpse's number flashed on her screen.
"Bunny please." He slurred. She gulped, "Corpse?" she asked. "You answered." He said with a giddy giggle. She sighed, "Are you drunk-" "I can't believe you answered. You won't hang up on me right?" he asked, practically begged.
Elaine sighed, "I won't." she whispered. He sniffled and gulped, "I'm sorry Lainey." He said. She hummed laying back down, trying to calm her breathing.
"I really didn't know what came over me. I don't want you to think that my feeling change. You don't think that right?" he asked.
As he waited for her answer, she remained quiet, creating tears in his eyes. "Fuck. You- Please don't think that." he begged.
"Then what do you want me to believe Corpse?" she asked making him cringe, "You pulled away Corpse-" "Which was my biggest mistake!" he yelled making her jump.
He breathed heavily and gulped as the tears started to flow down his face. His chest tightening as his mind played scenarios of losing her and it made his heart drop.
"I- I don't- I can't-" "Corpse." She cut him off with a calm voice. He gulped, "Calm down. I'm not going anywhere." She said with a sigh.
"Elaine-" "Breathe for me Corpse. Please?" she asked and breathed with him. It calmed him down a bit but he was still intoxicated and Elaine knew that.
"Where are you?" she asked as Corpse heard the shuffling on her end. "Home." He slurred. "Okay, wait for me there alright?" she asked as she got up, grabbed her jacket and shoes.
"No. I don't want you to see me like this." he whined making Elaine smile, remembering the night of his birthday. "Let me remind you Corpse Husband, I have seen you like this before so you don't get an excuse for me to not go and see you." she said before grabbing her keys.
Corpse hummed, knowing enough that he will not be able to stop her. So as he listened to her scramble around, he spoke again making Elaine stop, "I really don't want you to be uncomfortable about that entire thing."
She gripped the steering wheel and sighed, "Sit tight, I'll be there soon Corpse." She said softly making Corpse sigh in relief.

Elaine walked in the apartment and walked to where she thought where he would be and she guessed right.
Walking in his room he sighed at the sight. There on his bed, Corpse was curled into a ball and was sniffing making her frown.
She took off her jacket and her shoes and walked to the bed slightly. She took off the cap of the water bottle that she brought. "Corpse." She said quietly and rubbed his back.
He flinched a bit but slowly melted to her touch and turned around. "Hey." She said with a small smile.
"You're here..." he trailed in shock but closed his eyes as she ran her fingers through his hair. "Can you sit up for me a bit?" she asked.
He groaned but she huffed, "You have to drink some water." She reminded her. "But I want to sleep." He whined sending her a look. She chuckled, "If you drink this water you can go straight to sleep." She reasoned and he agreed.
Helping him sit up, he fumbled with his mask so she helped him take it off. He froze as that night played again in his head.
The guilt eating him up all over again which she noticed. A tear or two rolling down his cheeks, he looked at her and frowned, "I'm so sorry Elaine. I didn't mean to hurt you. I was scared that it would lead to awkwardness and I didn't want that.
"I didn't want anything to change between us because I was so scared that you would run away-" "I will never run away from you." she cut him off.
He huffed and pulled her into his arms, "Please don't go. Don't leave me Bunny please." He pleaded and her heart ached.
Wrapping her arms around him and kissing his head, "Go to sleep-" "I don't want to wake up with you not here." He whined pulling her closer.
Elaine's heart started to beat rapidly in her chest but she nodded, "I'll be here when you wake up. I promise." She said.
