3rd Person P.O.V. Following (Y/n)

Back with (Y/n), he was getting ready to leave the conference room. Everyone had once again shared all that they knew about the yakuza, and why they need the 2 children. Unfortunately, going into this mission, they couldn't find any info on Eri's quirk. They did however have a lead on Funai's part to play. As he was waiting in Aizawa to finish talking to some people, he thought about it.

"Funai's quirk on the registry is called Restoration. It's apparently a very advanced healing quirk. I can see how having a healer does help, but that means 2 things. They must have some way to awaken quirks like Sensei did for me, and they probably intend to force him to use his quirk. Well, even if they can awaken quirks, that kind of thing draws a lot of attention, so a yakuza working in the dark probably wouldn't have done it but maybe once or twice before?" (Y/n)'s thoughts rambled on and on in his head.

As he wondered about the possibility of fighting more males with quirks, someone walked up to the young villain. It was the pro hero Ryukyu. She gathered his attention by placing a hand on his shoulder. He looked over at the hero, who stood shorter than he did. Having his attention, the hero withdrew her hand from his shoulder.

"Sorry to bother you in the middle of your thoughts, but would you mind maybe talking to my sidekicks? They're quite nervous to be working with a villain, and still a bit awed by your display against Torino earlier." Ryukyu asked politely.

"I guess I can, but what do you want me to say? At the end of the day, I am a villain. Them being nervous speaks to their instincts. I'd be afraid of a betrayal too. Not saying I'm going to, but I do think they're right to be nervous." (Y/n) countered, unable to comprehend why everyone else trusts him so easily.

"That's not wrong, per say, but look at them. They're afraid. It's fine to be nervous, but they need to be able to act in spite of that. Composure is a big part of being a hero." Ryukyu explained.

Shrugging his shoulder, (Y/n) decides to go through with it. He walks up to the group. They all watch him expectantly, knowing they can't fight in this situation. He stopped in front of them, and addressed the group of them as a whole.

"Why are you shaking? Does it scare you? To be working with a villain? Or is it maybe because you don't know what you're going to be jumping into? Whatever it is, people like me will exploit that fear. You all follow some moral code or another, but a villain is not bound by those same rules. It's fine to be afraid. It's not fine show that fear to the enemy. That's how people die. Do with that what you will." (Y/n) exclaimed to the group, before turning away.

As he walked away from the group, they all visibly calmed down. It was apparent they had much to think about, and much more to learn. (Y/n) didn't return to Ryukyu, opting instead to go meet with Aizawa who had finished her talk, and was now waiting on him.

"I wanted him to just make them not so nervous around him, but that may have been better for them. Still, to hear something like that from someone so young is a bit jarring." Ryukyu thought to herself after having watched the interaction.

Upon making it to his teacher, the 2 made way to the car. Largely a silent trip, seeing as the 2 seldom liked to initiate conversation if they could avoid it. It was when they entered the car and began the trip back to U.A., that the young villain decided to break the silence. It was an issue that had taken a back seat in the midst of dealing with the Hassaikai case, but (Y/n) had been thinking of the decision to change his last name with Aizawa being legally declared his guardian.

"Ms. Aizawa, I know this is out of the blue, but will I have to sign any papers when you're appointed my guardian?" (Y/n) asked.

"Not to my knowledge, no. Why do you ask?" Aizawa looked to (Y/n) curiously as she asked.

"Well, I've been thinking about it when I can. You mentioned that I can change my name if I wanted to. I think I've decided. I'm gonna keep it." (Y/n) answered her curiosity with a surprising answers.

Amidst the shock, Aizawa was at a bit of a loss for words. Time and time again, (Y/n) proved to be someone she couldn't much predict outside of their one fight at the training camp. Even then, the difference came down to (Y/n) not being all to great at fighting without his quirk, but he was long since past that. Now, just as she thought she was starting to get a read on who (Y/n) is, he ripped the rug from her expectations. Shaking off he surprise, she finally addressed (Y/n) after a short moment of silence.

"Alright. May I ask why, though? I was sure you'd want to change it." the pro heroine asked, her confusion apparent even through her tired appearance.

"Not too long ago, I would have. I tied my hatred of my hatred of my last name to my hatred for (M/n). But, thinking about it, that means I would have to hate myself, and at least right now, I don't think I do. I still feel animosity to her, but I'm another person entirely." (Y/n)'s response came after a moment of contemplation.

The remainder of the drive was silent, but comfortably so. (Y/n) watched the building pass by, his thoughts now finding themselves back to the Hassaikai, and how he would deal with the problem. Working with others wasn't a particular specialty of his, but it's not a weakness of his either.

"A high level healing quirk. On paper, it does sound useful, and Sensei did have the ability to force activate quirks. Maybe they have something similar? Funai is still a little kid, so he could easily be stressed out enough into a quirk awakening, but they then have to make him use it. All around, it seems like it's be more efficient to find a woman with a lesser degree of healing quirk that's willing to help them. Then there's those quirk erasing bullets. What could they be after with those?" the boys thoughts drifted from point to point.

No matter how (Y/n) tried to piece this together, he couldn't figure out where Funai worked in all of this. Amidst his thoughts, (Y/n) heard a voice he didn't recognize. After a brief moment of silence, he heard it again. And then again. Looking around for a moment, no one else was talking or seemed to hear the voices. Listening in, the voice sounded like that of an older woman.

"Let's discuss our options." the voice suggests calmly, as if she was reassuring someone.

(Y/n) remains silent, unsure of what to do or say. It's not that he was a stranger to someone else's voice in his head, it's just that all his experiences with Contrast happened when he was asleep. He couldn't possibly be going insane? There was a brief moment of silence before he heard the voice again.

"No, I don't think that'd work. I've tried and when I leave this room, I can't see anything but the light from this room." she spoke, answering a question seemingly no one asked.

It became apparent (Y/n) was only hearing one end of the conversation. This was already a whirlwind of info he would have to process, and now there's the possibility of even more voices in his head appearing.

"You figure one thing out about yourself and a whole new problem arises, huh?" the boy thought to himself, not yet sure what to make of this.
