William Solace is a morning person. He likes to rise with the sun, the golden color of dawn turning to day, likes watching the world start anew from deep indigo to yellow to baby blue. William Solace also likes to admire his boyfriend because in his humble opinion, said boyfriend is the most beautiful person in the world.

Nico di Angelo is not a morning person, though. Such a difference might have posed a challenge... that is if Will doesn't constantly find himself enraptured in Nico's beauty.

Most mornings, the son of Apollo wakes at dawn. He likes to keep his eyes shut and just rest for a moment, between worlds, relaxed. Most mornings his first proper movements will be to crack his neck and blink away any tiredness left behind. He will take in the scent that is so completely Nico, squeeze at his boyfriend's waist from where he's spooning him from behind. Most mornings he will roll Nico slightly over- just enough to let a cut of light beam across his body. Nico is beautiful, always, but Will thinks he is most beautiful then- when the tenseness and anxiety, the depression, numbness, pain has melted away. Of course, sleep isn't always easy.

Sleep hardly ever isn't a challenge, but mornings this golden always let all of the hurt slip away to be replaced with a soft almost smile that Will absolutely loves.

And normally, that would be it. Will would get out of bed, Nico would continue sleeping, Will would move about his morning, Nico would sleep some more and then, eventually, wake up and whatever the day brought would happen, would pass, be over, and leave the cycle to start anew.

Today isn't "normally" though.

Today... today Will wakes up and wants to kiss Nico. He wants to kiss his neck and leave purple on his skin, wants to whisper praises into his boyfriend's ear just like he knows he likes. He wants to see the son of Hades' smile and hear his moans and feel everything he's felt a million times before again and again and again.

Will waits and simply presses a kiss to Nico's neck, right over a bruise he'd left last night. He smiles at the memory, a slow and sweet thing. That's how it usually is with them, gentle, because Nico says he feels best like that. He feels best when Will takes care of him and tells him how good he's being and holds him afterwards, and Will likes it best that way too.

"Will..." Nico mumbles, voice rough from sleep and possibly some other... things.

"Morning, death boy," Will says softly, brushing back his boyfriend's bangs from his forehead, just to be able to gaze into those deep brown eyes, still foggy with sleep.

"Too early," Nico mumbles, "lemme sleep or I'll kill you."

Will just laughs, because morning Nico is funny and sweet and thinks he's threatening, "No you won't."

"Watch me," the son of Hades says just as he burrows his face in Will's chest.

"Mm, I feel very threatened," Will says. He pushes his fingers through Nico's hair, curls them tightly- just enough to get a moan out of him.

"William, you absolute nuisance," Nico groans, a soft and rough thing all at once.

"What?" Will gasps in faux surprise, "Me? A nuisance? In your dreams, death boy."

Nico sits up, now wide awake, with a scowl plastered across his face (the glimmer in his eye gives him away), "Don't call me that."

Will pouts dramatically, because he's not the son of Apollo for nothing, "What will I call you now?"

"My name you dumbass," Nico grumbles, moving as if to get out of bed before-

Will snatches his wrist and tugs him back to bed, back into that beam of golden sunlight. He rolls them over so that Nico is below him, eyes slightly wide and gorgeous. The son of Apollo smirks as he spreads his boyfriend's legs and rests himself between them.
