Zukos PoV
Sokka froze in shock. Was I really doing this?
He wasn't listening to me , I was trying to tell him I liked him, like really liked him and had for a longtime. We should be laughing about it now, happy. He was supposed to be happy now. I wouldn't usually do this but I knew he liked me back. I didn't think. I just, kissed him.
Sokkas PoV
Was this really happening? Zuko was kissing me? Did this mean he liked me? I didn't know what to do, I didn't really think I just kissed him back. The feeling was ethereal. Finally I was there, in the moment that I had imagined hundreds of times — it was really happening. I lent into the kiss taking in everything I could in those few seconds, worm the sweet taste of his lips to the small smile he had on as he pulled back.
Suddenly Zuko apologised,I obviously didn't care. He knew I liked him why would he apologise? That was the best moment of my life.
It felt different though. Not in a bad way... just different. Like different to what I was used to, different to Suki, It felt more real. I actually wanted this, it wasn't something I felt I had to do to be 'normal' or 'fit in'.
End Sokkas PoV
"I-I Dont know what came over me.." Zuko met Sokkas eyes "to soon?"
Sokka smiled "It's ok.. I liked it."
The two boys smiled and sat down at the base of the large oak tree. There was a pleasant silence between the two as they sat and processed their thoughts.
Sokka got a sudden wave of confidence as he slipped his large rough hand into Zukos smaller, more feminine soft hand. Zuko smiled and rested his head on Sokkas Shoulder turning his body towards sokka.
After a minute of sitting there sokka, holding zukos hand stood up and they walked to a more private place once they had sat down on the bench sokka leaned in, reaching his hand into the back of zukos hair, enjoying it as much as last time but having less of a sense of shock and more time to enjoy it.
Zukos leaned in putting his hands around Sokkas waist and pulling him closer. After a while they pulled their lips apart and sat for heads touching and smiling.
