Zuri POV:
"Giulio" I shout from the bottom of the steps
"Mamá" Giulio shouts from who knows where
"Baby can you please come down here and eat Mamá needs to go. YaYa can't keep going up and down running after you"
"Nonsense I might be old but I'm still fit enough to take care of my gran babies" Emerald says squeezing Sophie's cheeks making her giggle
"Giulio, YaYa made choc chip pancakes with whipped cream ....your favorite" she taunts him and suddenly we hear footsteps running towards us
"Yaaay pancakes" he says at the top of the stairs practically sprinting his way down
"Giulio what have I said about running down the stairs" I pick up the basket of laundry . He stops running and he turns towards me
"Sorry Mamá I won't do it again" he says looking down
I put the basket on the steps and I bend down spreading my arms. He comes running towards me with a smile on his face. He wraps his little arms around me. Squeezing him tight I kiss his forehead . Freeing my hand I ruffle his cute fluffy brown hair
"Be good today okay" I hold his cheeks into the palm of my hands and he nods his head. Letting go of him I look at Sophie whose making fun of Giulio for being a mama's boy
"Sophie" I warn her and she frowns . Shaking my head as I get up picking Giulio and placing him on my hips . I start walking towards the kitchen bar stools placing Giulio in front of his pancakes
"Sophie" I call her and she puts her pancake down . Turning to me she has a small smile on her face
"Are you forgetting anything by any chance" I grin folding my arms . Watching her get down from her chair she runs towards me giggling ,wrapping her tiny arms around my legs
Bending down I pick her up spinning her around as she screams for me to go higher. Kissing her everywhere on her face she starts giggling making me chuckle as well
"I love you" I say kissing her nose
"I love you too , Mamá" she smiles as she places her thumb in her mouth
Placing her back down in front of her plate , I turn to Giulio removing his fluffy fringe away and I kiss his forehead
"I love you" I say to him and he looks up at me
"I love you too, Mamá" he grabs my face kissing my cheek
"Okay you two , I have to go" I go towards the laundry basket picking it up and placing it in the laundry room .
Shoving the clothes in I start the wash and I walk back into the kitchen
"Emerald I will be back at around-" looking down at my watch I look back up at her " - in the next 3 hours I just want to run a couple of errands . Do you need anything?" I ask her as I put on my coat
"No Doll I'm good " she says and I nod exiting the door
If there is one thing I'm glad about is that Emerald never asks what I do for a living instead she congratulates me for being able to give my kids a good lifestyle even without their dad being in the picture
I met Emerald 5 years ago on the same day I gave birth to the twins and ever since she's been helping me raise them
Walking towards my car I get stopped by Daphne my neighbor from across the street. She honestly thinks I'm a bad mom just because my kids don't have their dad in their lives
