Third person POV:
"Today on News 24 we are sad to share that as a nation we had a heart-breaking incident happen on M4. An elderly woman drove two kids to their deaths causing there to be a tragic car accident. Both bodies were found holding hands so the president changed the name of the road to 'The twin highway 'to remember the kids by. People pile up on the highway decorating the road with dolls, teddy bears, and cars for little Sophie Camille Andrade – Lavigne and Giulio Pierre Andrade-Lavigne. May their souls rest in peace. The family of the kids has not been seen but if they are out there our hearts go out to them"
It's been a month since Hunter and the twins have passed. Zuri hasn't spoken or done anything since then. She's been so depressed that it resulted in the lower half of her body giving up. She's been refusing to eat and well Mark he's been there every step of the way making sure she's okay. As much as he hates what she did but the love he has for the twins and her is so deep-rooted that it's not something he could simply pluck out
Mark walked into the room with a tray of food hoping she would eat something today. He searched around for her until he found her patio door open. Walking outside he found her just staring into the distance
"Who pushed you out here," Mark asked placing the tray of food down on the nearby table. He placed his hands on the chair trying to wheel her back into the house but it wouldn't budge. Looking down he sees rocks placed directly at the back of her back wheels
Every day something in him breaks when he sees her so broken and empty. He sighed and he crouched down to face her
"Zuri I'm really trying. It's cold out here and I don't want you to freeze" he said gently caressing her hand. Zuri didn't blink she hardly even moved but the tear slowly streaking down her face didn't go unnoticed. Mark wiped it away with his thumb and gently placed a kiss on her cheek
Standing up he walked back to the patio door optioning to just leave her there but he couldn't so instead he took a blanket from the cupboard and walked back out placing it around her. He grabbed a chair and sat beside her
She stared into the distance but he turned to look at the woman he loved slowly losing herself and there was nothing he could do than to just keep her alive
As much as he knew she didn't love him as much as he loved her that didn't stop him from showing her how much he cared
Zuri loved that Mark cared but deep down she grieved for everything she simply lost in one day. She felt that if she spoke about the incident then it would be true. She was in denial but she needed to understand that without Mark she never existed
He was the foundation for everything she ever worked for. The organization that recruited her was made by a man who was greedy for the power Mark had so he had people go out and kill Mark but everyone simply failed that is until Zuri came along.
She was beautiful, charismatic, bold the embodiment of a goal-driven woman. That was what Mark mostly loved in her. She wasn't afraid of him instead she was just as equally afraid of failure as he was
But she failed to physically kill Mark but emotionally she deprived him of any sense that there was someone else out there for him. She made him strongly believe that she was all he ever needed and to him, she felt like home.
She was his family and the world he grew up in no matter how shitty your family is they will always come first
The ring he tried ever so badly to propose to her with was truly thoughtful. The stone in the middle was a mixture of her dad and her mom's ashes so that she could take a piece of them everywhere she went
She would never know now but Mark has hope that somewhere in the future she'll finally say yes. No matter how long. He'll wait for his princess. His queen. His everything
"I'm grieving too you know," he said out loud. He wasn't hoping for a reply or anything he just wanted to let her know that she was not alone in this
Zuri did something he didn't expect though. She started crying. Frowning he got up and held her. She sobbed gripping onto his shirt so tight hoping that just maybe all of this is some sick dream she'll eventually wake up from. She wasn't the only one crying though. Mark too has trails of tears running down his face
They were both grieving even though it was in different ways. This was the first real moment they probably ever had together cause right now at this moment it was just them.
The masks have finally fallen off and Mark made sure to live in the moment. Her being so close and vulnerable to him made that little fire in his heart reignite
"I'm here I'll always be here" he croaked rubbing her back gently as she cried. She held him even tighter hoping that he understood that she was forever grateful for someone like him. It's just that words couldn't express how in pain she is

Everything was going so good until these last few chapters 😭💔🚮All the titles of the chapters make up a sentence and now reading it with this ending I'm like wow
Writing this I realize that never let the characters choose their dialogue cause they truly have no plan like why was this even needed 💔
Thank you all for reading🦋💕(Not edited x)
