Zuri POV:

Fixing my dress I turn to Mark and he grins buttoning the last buttons on his shirt

"Ready?" I ask him and he nods

Knocking on the door I hear Emerald telling the kids to keep quiet

"Who is it" she yells

"It's me, " I say and the twins start squealing. Hearing their little footsteps running towards the door. I only realize now how much I miss them when I'm busy with work

Emerald opens the door and the twins rush to me

"Mama" they both squeal in unison as they wrap their tiny little arms around my legs

"How have you guys been," I ask crouching down to their level

"Mama, Sophie took my cookie last night " Giulio huffs folding his arms as he glares at Sophie

"No that was my cookie Giulio isn't allowed to have glue his allergic" Sophie looks at Mark and I

"Well" looking up at Mark his just smiling down at us

"Giulio baby you are allergic to gluten so you can't have cookies," I say and he frowns

"But dada gives me glue," Guilio says looking at Mark. Both of us freeze

"Did he just?" Mark says as stunned as I am and I nod

"Oh my god" Mark crouches down next to us. He grabs both Sophie and Giulio pulling them into a hug

"I love you both so much," he says planting a kiss on their foreheads. They both start to giggle.

"Well let's not leave Mama out of the hug," Giulio says grabbing my dress with his tiny hand

"How could we," Mark says looking at me lovingly and I chuckle going in for the hug

"Now we definitely can't leave Emerald out," I say looking at her but of course, she's watching her soapies and not giving a care about what's happening here

~~~~~~~~~~ 5 hours later~~~~~
Mark, the twins, and I are squashed in their little beds watching a Toy story marathon.
Mark's phone starts to ring and he takes it out of his pockets
"Yes," he says placing it by his ear. Not being able to hear the conversation I can tell that it's serious by the way he's glaring at the screen like he could kill someone
"Okay I'll be there make sure he's awake when I get there," he says clenching his jaw and I frown
"What's wrong," I ask and he huffs
"I just need to go take care of something but I'll be back for dinner let's say 7 pm," he says looking at his watch
"It's 3 pm right now though," I say and he sighs
"I'll be back at 6 then," he says planting a kiss on the twins
"Okay well dada has to go," he says planting kisses on their cheeks
"No" they both wine as he gets off the bed
"Mark" I sternly say and he looks at me apologetically. Putting on his shoes he grabs his jacket and walks out
"Dadda's coming back right," Sophie says turning to look at me
"Yes," I say running my hand through her hair
Just like that, they go back to watching the movie but I can't get over why he had to go
The twins start yawning. Watching them close their eyes I wait until I hear their little snores
