Daisy/Skye POV
“One more time Daisy!”Natasha orders, after flipping her to the floor once more. Keeping a deep breath, Daisy slowly push herself up from the floor to face Natasha once more. It’s been two months since the Avengers had found her, two months since Director Fury gave her the information she has wanted since she was young, two months since he ordered the Avengers to start her training.
So, for the past two months, she has been trained by Natasha, Clint and Peggy in hand-to-hand combat, Natasha and Clint teaching her how to handle weapons. Bruce have made sure to teach her everything he knows in meditation, which have been a great help with her powers. Stark tried to teach her everything he knows in computer science, but Daisy had managed to out hack him in a matter of seconds, which made Stark hide in his lab for over a week, Pepper saw it as a good thing, and according to him, it was about time someone hurt his ego. Which left an opening for Natasha and Clint teaching her how to fly a plane.
So that’s her days, training, training and training. The evenings are field with one weird activity after another, there was never a calm or quiet moment in the tower and Daisy is quite happy over this fact, it helped her keep her mind away from the pain and fear. Food fights, movie nights, one random game after another, not to mention Stark’s brilliant idea mix alcohol with truth or dare. At least she now has a long list of information that can be used as blackmail.
Her night’s, well they are a story for itself. Daisy isn’t sure when she got a full night sleep last, more often than not, she finds herself working on one project after another in front of her computer, not even trying to get any sleep. She knows very well that the others have realised this, she can see it in Natasha, Peggy and Pepper’s eyes, she also knows they won’t say anything. Very few people in this building are able to sleep properly after all.
“Come on Daisy, one more time. From the top.”
Natasha points out, pulling Daisy back to reality once more. With a deep breath, Daisy lifts her head.
“Sorry, I’m ready.”
She says, taking her stand, forcing herself to stay in the moment, the here and now. Seeing Natasha move towards, Daisy blocks her attack, only to be forced backwards. Keeping on blocking the attacks that is being thrown her way and before she knows it, Natasha has her flipped to the floor once more. Keeping her eyes on the roof above her, she wonders why she is being pushed this hard all of a sudden.
“Alright, that is enough for now.”
A voice speaks up, making Daisy lift her head from the floor, her eyes landing on Peggy who is standing in the door opening, her arms crossed as she looks at her and Natasha. Sitting up, Daisy can see how Natasha and Peggy is having a silent conversation between them. With a nod of Natasha’s head, she leaves the room and Daisy is left alone with the super soldier who now walks towards her.
“When was the last time you got any sleep Daisy?”
Peggy asks, worry in her eyes and voice as she speaks, holding out her arm to help Daisy. Looking at the hand in front of her, Daisy grabs hold of it and Peggy pulls her to her feet without a single problem. With a deep breath, Daisy opens her mouth to speak.
“Daisy, you need to sleep. So, I order you, to head back to your room, take a shower and go to sleep!”
Peggy orders before Daisy has a chance to speak, which makes her roll her eyes, which makes Peggy narrow her own eyes.
“Daisy.”
“I’m afraid alright, what if I end up destroying this building?”
“Stark have made sure that your room is your power proofed and JARVIS will inform me if you are starting to have a nightmare, and I will be up there directly. Now go to sleep! And don’t even think about placing yourself in front of your computer or phone, I made sure to take those away from your room before getting down here.”
Hearing this, Daisy narrows her eyes, only to know that she won’t win this fight, Peggy has the high ground and all she can do is to follow order, one should be listening to their SO if they give you an order. With a deep breath in, Daisy nods her head and starts to move towards the door, leading out to the hallway and to the elevator. As the elevator door closes, Daisy can see that Peggy is leaving the training room, staying in the hallway.
Leaning towards the wall, she closes her eyes as she feels to elevator move. As the doors opens once more, she pushes herself from the wall and slowly walks down the hallway, reaching her room. Seeing that her door is already open, Daisy comes to realise that Peggy has been right, there would be no laptop or a phone. With a deep breath, Daisy enters the room and closes the door. Following Peggy’s orders, she takes a shower, change into something light before moving to her bed.
Dropping down on the large bed, Daisy looks up at the roof once more. Knowing fully well that Peggy is right, she needs to sleep at some point, she takes a few deep breaths. Closing her eyes, she goes over what Bruce has told her, following his instructions on how to slow her breathing down and to relax. And before she knows it, she is back on the BUS, before the betrayal. Down in the lab with Leo and Jemma, laughing at the two of them traying to play agent Ward. A time when things had been so much easier, a time where she didn’t have to worry about destroying anything. A time, she knows she will never have back.
