Daisy/Skye POV

She made sure to keep right behind May as they drive back for the BUS. She knows fully well where it’s parked, she had made sure to learn that part before the mission started, but she has a feeling Coulson, and the others wouldn’t be all to happy it she shows up before May does. Seeing the BUS grow larger, Daisy can feel how she starts to grow worried.

Driving up the ramp after May, Daisy parks her bike to the wall, making sure it’s safe. Tony has gifted it to her when she started doing a few missions on her own, and she doesn’t want to take it back so soon to have it fixed up.

Taking of the helmet and making sure her glasses are on properly, she can see that Coulson, Ward and FitzSimmons have placed themselves in front of the lab doors. Half of the group looks at her with narrowed eyes, making Daisy stay by her bike until May steps out of her car.

“May.”

Coulson speaks as Daisy slowly moves to join May, who looks at her. With a small move of her shoulders, Daisy takes a stand Peggy has shown her, showing that she isn’t afraid and that it will be hard to take her down.

“Meet the agent Fury decided to send us, even if the meeting time somehow got mixed up at some point...”

May starts to explain, making Daisy roll her eyes. She had been on time; it wasn’t her fault that Coulson was impatient.

“This is special agent Daisy Johnson.”

May continues and Daisy nods her head in greeting. As she lifts her head once more, she takes a step back seeing how Simmons is walking towards her. The biochemist eyes are locked on her body and seeing how she lifts her hand, Daisy grabs hold if it, her grip hard.

“I can take care of those myself.”

She speaks in perfect Mandarin, earning a surprise looks from the agents around her. Simmons looks at her, at her hand and then turns her head towards May.

“She says she can take care of the wounds herself, but I will do it.”

May translates and Daisy let’s go of Simmons hand. Turning her attention to May, Daisy sees how the other woman nods her head towards the lab before she starts to walk, Coulson, Ward and Fitz stepping to the side as they walk past them.

“Since when do you speak Mandarin?”

“I think I was around five or six, I thought that if I learned speaking it, the foster family at the time would keep me. It didn’t work, and since we last meet, I have learned speaking Russian too.”

May asks as she starts to look for the supplies she would need and Daisy is happy that she asked in Mandarin, making it hard for anyone on the BUS to learn what they are saying in this moment, and Daisy will have time to delete the whole conversation from the security cameras later.

She starts to take of a layer of her mission suit, finding herself standing in the lab with a tank top as she waits. The gasp coming from behind her, makes her realise her mistake. She was so used to walking around like this in the tower, the scares had become a part of her and no one in her team saw them anymore, or at least they made sure she didn’t know about it.

Turning her head, Daisy sees that rest of the 616 team has followed her and May. Judging from the way Simmons is covering her mouth, the gasp most have come from the biochemist. Fitz is watching her with large eyes, and she guess he doesn’t know what to do or thing. Ward is watching every scar that is on display and she can see sympathy and sadness in Coulson’s eyes, something she doesn’t want to see in this moment.

Hearing something fall to the floor behind her, Daisy turns her head, eyes landing on May who is now looking at her with narrowed eyes, a tray at her feet. Within seconds, May is right beside her, grabbing hold of her right arm to check on a scar.

“What happened?”

“Well…”

“Out with-it Johnson. What happened?”

May asks, eyes turning from the scar to look directly into her eyes. Feeling uncomfortable about all of this, Daisy lowers her head and tries to move her arm from the grip May has on her arm.

“What do you think happened?”

She finally speaks, her voice low as she speaks, however.

“Just patch up my new wounds and I will tell you everything about it when we don’t have the extra ears around.”

She adds, turning back to speaking Mandarin once more. Seeing that May’s eyes soften slightly, she realises her arm before turning to look at her team.

“Everyone out!”

She orders as she goes back to pick up the tray that she dropped moments before. Glancing towards the side, she sees how Coulson starts to push Simmons and Fitz out of the door and she is quite sure she hears Fitz asking in a low voice what might have happened to her. He and Simmons really are out on deep water, just as much as she had been when she first entered the plan over half a year ago.

“So?”

May asks the moment she is sure that they are alone, placing the tray on one of the work desks and points to one of the chairs. Taking the hint, Daisy pulls the chair over to May and sits down.

“When I left, I made the decision to go back to the states, find a place where I could stay and find a proper job, no more hacking, just a normal boring life for me. I didn’t get so far however, I was taken at the airport, after that it was just a blur of pain. Three months ago, I was rescued and that was it.”

Daisy explains, keeping her eyes locked on the wall as she speaks. She can feel how May works on her wounds, silence hanging over them for a few minutes.

“And the little stunt you pulled earlier?”

May asks once she is done and for some reason Daisy can’t help but to smile.

“I’ve been granted some powers, and it turns out they will be very handy.”

She explains, laughing slightly at her own joke and she can see how May rolls her eyes.

“What now?”

May asks as she steps away from Daisy, taking the tray with her. Taking it that May is done and there won’t be any more poking, Daisy moves from the chair and starts to pull on her jacket.

“I have some files that you can read, all from Director Fury and Deputy Hill. I need a shower and drop my things off in a bunk before I will be able to handle anything else.”

Daisy says, slightly happy that they have gone back to speaking English once more. She does however pull out her phone, accessing the planes system and starts to delete the security tape over the lab as she walks for the doors. Walking over to the bike, she opens the bag she didn’t bother to take with her earlier and pulls up a large file. Knowing fully well that May has followed her, Daisy turns and holds out the paperwork that is her life to the other woman who takes it with a simple nod of her head.
