Rocky held El's shoulders as they started to go up. The gate right before them, the growing of Demodogs had been all around them. It was El's idea to being Rocky along, Hopper disapproved but he'd gotten into the car anyways. "They're everywhere."

"Too many." Hopper agreed as he held the gun. "Just stay-"

A screech echoed as Rocky spun around to see the Demodog, yanking his fist back and hitting it in the face. Hopper yelled at him to move, his gun in hand. Rocky hit it again, only for the creature to scratch him across the face and yank him forward. The Byers boy fell over the railing, yelling out in fear as he grabbed hold of the side. Hopper shot the Demodog as Rocky reached up, yanking its leg for it to fall.

El and Hopper pulled him up over the side as Rocky held his chest. "Don't tell your Mom."

"That's a crazy story." Max said honestly, sat on Rockys old bed as he finished the last minute packing. After Joyce confirmed they would be moving for sure, she'd at least promised them all new beds when they arrived.

"Yeah, you should have been there." he zipped up the bag, looking back at her. Over the course of a few weeks, he was healing up in the slightest. He still had faint bruises, and his nose was broken and had a permanent bandaid for another few weeks to come, not to mention bruised ribs that were constantly wrapped or iced. Max exhaled and looked off. "What's that look for?"

"There's no look." she argued.

Rocky cracked a grin. "Are you gonna miss me, Maxamime?"

"What?" the redhead looked in disbelief. "No, no. I'm just gonna miss El."

"Aw, I know. Gonna miss El so much, huh?" he sat next to her with an arm around her shoulder. This time, she didn't shrug it off. Instead, her head laid on his shoulder. Rockys eyes widened in shock, not expected it. "Woah, PDA coming in hot."

"I hate you." Max spoke in disbelief.

"I know." he smiled, standing up again. "I have something for you so you don't have to keep missing me all the time and cry every night."

"Cries of joy." she mocked as he went for his bag and pulled out the same blue jacket they shared at the hospital.

"I know you like it, do not deny it." he walked over and draped it on her shoulders, despite it being extremely hot outside. And despite it, she wore it anyways. "You know you can call me all the time. I've got my own landline in my room now."

"Your Moms really having to bribe you, huh?" Max almost laughed, looking down some. "Everything is changing and I just don't want to keep loosing people."

Rocky kneeled down infront of her, trying to catch her eye as his hands pressed onto her forearms. "You're not loosing us, we're just gonna be a little far apart. That's all. Besides, i'll be driving in, let's see, if I can get a headship, which I will because single Mom with three kids, i'll be driving in November. Just four months from now. I can definitely drive thirty-five hours, easy."

"Four glorious months." she joked as he smiled. "I'll call you every single night just to annoy you."

"I'll count on it." he smiled, standing up. "Come on, Jonathan promised me a gas station stop and i'm gonna hold him to it."

Max wrapped her arm around Rocky as they walked out of the house, letting him go once the door was shut and they were to start their goodbyes. Rocky grinned as Lucas. "Don't blow anything up while i'm gone."

"No promises." he joked with a faint grin, accepting the small hug Rocky gave him. Dustin joined in on the group hug.

"Y'all be good." Rocky warned them. "Don't do anything I would do."

"Wasn't planning on it." Dustin laughed slightly. "Try not to beat a bunch of people up."

"What if California people really suck though?" he asked. "I mean, what if they are like that redhead?"

"All the luck to you then." Lucas joked as Rocky smiled.

"Just, make sure you keep track and tell us all about it." Dustin spoke as the trio finally pulled back.

"Will do." Rocky grinned at the pair before he pushed Mike slightly. "Try not to worry too much. I can keep El and Will safe."

"I know, it's just-" he exhaled with a shake of his head. "-gonna miss you guys."

"Me included?" he teased him.

Mike rolled his eyes. "I guess so."

"I know." Rocky gave him a quick hug. "Don't be mean to Max while we're gone, she doesn't need that right now. Be there for her."

"Okay." Mike promised. "Just, watch out for them for me."

"Always." Rocky pulled back, giving him a small fist pump before Max was the only goodbye left. "Don't go crying on me, California."

"You wish." she mocked, but hugged him. Actually hugged him, willingly. Rocky grinned, hugging her back with a rub to her back, his head leaned on hers just slightly. "Don't forget to check the water before dying your hair."

"I'll try to remember this time." he cracked a grin, they pulled back when Jonathan started up the car. "I gotta go."

"Bye, California." Max cracked a minor grin.

Rocky gave a look of disbelief. "Get your own nickname."
