Wish looked at his brother from his side of the tree, quickly looking away after getting a glare from the few villagers who had noticed him.
It had been a few weeks since the 'incident', and it's been... Interesting to say the least, trying to adjust to his new life has been strange. He had learned that his name was in fact Wish, it wasn't just some nickname, and that his brothers new name was Void.
He also found out he had taken on the role as the guardian of negativity, so it was a good thing Void showed up when he did or he would've turned that apple and many others.
He looked back at his brother from the corner of his eye, he couldn't help but smile at how happy he looked, but at the same time he couldn't help but to feel sadness and worry, he knew the people who were making him so happy at the moment were only using him. That was just another problem he'd have to figure out a way to fix.
He sighed softly as he looked back down at the ground, closing his eyes just for a moment before he heard his name being called. Looking up, he saw his brother sitting in front of him, "Oh, hey Void, is there something I can help you with?" He asked him, trying his best to ignore the angry and disgusted stares the villagers were sending his way.
Void not realizing what his 'friends' were doing behind his back answered his brother with a smile, "my friends were telling me about this really cool place that just opened up somewhere in the village, they called it... What was it again...? A cat fay...?" he said, unsure.
"café," Wish corrected him. "Ohhh, that makes more sense, but a-anyways, I was wondering if you wanted to check it out with us! From what I heard they have a bunch of tasty drinks there and even some desserts!" He explained to him happily.
Wish nodded along with what he was saying, responding when he was done. "I would love to go with you, brother, but you have to remember one of us must stay by the tree at all times so I can't go with you guys." he reminded him, he wished he could go with them as he wanted to spend more time with his brother, plus, he didn't trust the villagers, but he knew he couldn't leave the tree unguarded.
Void seemed sad at this but understood. "Okay...." he said sadly as he wanted his brother to come along with him, "I'll get you something well we're there, what would you like?" He asked him. "A green tea would be nice," Wish answered him with a small smile.
Void nodded, "okay brother! I'll be back soon," he said as he got up. "Stay safe, " he smiled at him and waved before running off with his 'friends'. "You too, Void," Wish responded. His smile slowly disappeared as he ran down the hill, "You too..." He sighed softly, closing his eyes once more, knowing what was about to come his way.
Not long after Void and his 'friends' had left Wish was pushed onto his side. He opened his eyes and looked at the three villagers in front of him. "Was that really necessary?" He asked, being sure not to give them the reaction they wanted out of him.
"it's rude of you to ignore Void, let alone talk to him like that." one of them said in a snarky voice as they crossed their arms, a smug smile on their face as they looked down at Wish, believing he deserved what they were doing because he spoke to his brother in a way they didn't agree with.
Wish couldn't help but to roll his eyes at them, he's spent the past few weeks being there punching bag and having them get mad at him for the smallest of things.
He couldn't help but be annoyed at their lack of reasoning, he also couldn't help but imagine how many times the villagers had got mad at and hurt Nightmare just for speaking to him in the past.
"I wasn't ignoring him, and I don't see it as rude to remind him of a word he couldn't remember, if he did get agitated with me for doing so this would be an entirely different scenario, but he didn't, in fact he seemed grateful I did." He spoke calmly as he sat up, "you three are getting angry on someone else's behalf, if he saw how the three of you were acting I doubt he would appreciate your efforts of 'defending' him, let alone your strategy to do so."
One of the villagers didn't seem to take so kindly to his response. Thay walked over to him and grabbed a fist full of his hair and forced him to look up at them, "oh really? And when did you get such a big mouth? Brat." They spat at him.
Wish, despite the pain they were causing, responded once more, "When did you lose all respect for yourselves? When did three adults decide it would be a good idea to bully a child because they happened to be something they don't like?" He said, his eyes narrowing at them as he spoke.
He never Imagined himself speaking to someone in such a way, but he just hoped if they focused all their anger on to him he wouldn't have to worry as much about them hurting Void as they'd be too busy with him.
The person holding him by his hair growled and threw him back to the ground, "You're really testing our patience you brat!" they yelled.
Wish stood up and brushed himself off before looking back at the three villagers in front of him. "Please due come up with better insults, I've heard that one many times this past week alone. Now, would you kindly vacate the vicinity of the tree."
One of the villagers balled up their fist and went to hit Wish, who swiftly ducked under the attack, causing the person in question to hit the tree instead. They fell to their knees and they held there now injured hand.
Wish looked down at the fallen person, "Thhh... Let's hope you didn't break that hand..." He said with remorse, "Are you all right?" he asked, holding out his hand for them to take.
They looked at him in disgust before slapping his hand away, "I don't need pity from a freak like you!" They yelled as their friends help them up, "let's get out of here, " one of them whispered to which the other two nodded. "This isn't over you freak..." The one who had hurt their hand mumbled under their breath as them and their friends made their way down the hill and towards the village.
Wish sighed softly, silently hoping they weren't too hurt before he sat back down and his usual spot, waiting for his brother to come back.

"Brother!" Void called out to Wish causing him to open his eyes and look towards him, he smiled softly when he saw Void running up the hill towards him.
"I got your drink!" he said with a bright smile as he sat next to him, "thank you Void," Wish said as he took the drink from him, "What'd you get yourself?" he asked.
"Oh, I got myself a Strawberry banana smoothie! Do you want to try some?" he asked, Wish shook his head and politely declined, "no thank you Void, I have my tea and I'm content with that, thank you for your offer though" he said with a soft smile, just happy to see him so happy.
