Where Have You Been?

I was sitting alone, at 2am, on a park bench.

And let me tell you, it is not warm. It's around 12 degrees Fahrenheit on a warm winter night. Or morning?

Anyway, I was waiting for someone.

Someone close to me, and special. Luckily for me, my long hair kept my ears warm since I was dumb enough to not bring earmuffs.

I started humming our favorite song and adjusted my scarf, careful not to mess up my makeup or hair.

I heard footsteps that were so delicate, and it was her. I turned around and grinned at the sight of her.

"Hey. It's been awhile, hasn't it?," She asked me. I nodded and hugged her close to me.

"Where have you been?," I asked, pulling away but putting my hands on her shoulder.

"I don't know, but I'm home now," She answered and leaned in.

Our lips brushed ever so tenderly and it was summer again.
