Remember Me

I saw you lying in the field, with a variety of flowers covering your chest. I swore that I would extract revenge on the neighbouring country. Your eyes were closed, but I knew, behind them was a forest of greens and an ocean of blues combined into one. At your funeral, everyone whispered, "All hail the queen." And said nothing else, for there was not much to be said.

I stared the enemies down, feeling determination flare up inside me. I will die today, but if that what it means for me to avenge you: So be it. I drew my sword, and my allies were next to me. We went full war on them, losing so many, but we still had the upper-hand. Slashing and slashing with no remorse. These were just pawns of their own queen. It wasn't until I was stabbed in the stomach that I fell to my knees. I refused to die, and somehow, I saw myself become the villain in this story.

I attacked everyone in my sights. I did not care. I would not let myself die to these fools. I killed my allies, my enemies, my friends and my family. For the sake of your name, I killed. And I killed. Until I fell to the floor, letting tears slip upon the bloodied floor. I cracked a smile and whispered, "How forsaken I am, and how disappointed you must be in me."
