Chapter 39

"What the hell happened?!" Dad yelled as they all came running.
"The gate was open!" Beth explained.

"Where's Lori Carl and everyone else?!" Dad asked.

"Maggie led Lori an Carl into cell block C." Hershel explained.

"And T was bit." I added.

"Anyone else?" Dad asked.
"Couldn't tell." I said.

"Stay put!" Dad yelled as Glenn explained that someone manually cut the chain.

All the men looked over at the prisoners who were slowly entering the yard. The prison sirens started going off and everyone looked around.

I shot the siren next to us and everyone else did the same.

It was really crowded and Lexi is claustrophobic. She was panting and crying.

I picked her up and held her above my head so she had more room.

Everyone ran to cell block to look for them.

It felt like forever until they finally came back out.

"Hershel!!" Dad exclaimed as they ran out.
we came out of our gate to meet him.

"You didn't find them?" Hershel asked.
"We thought maybe they came back here." Glenn said and we all shook our heads.

"What about T, Carol?" Hershel asked.

"They didn't make it." Daryl said and I couldn't believe it. Carol,T-dog, they were both gone.

"That doesn't mean the others didn't. We're going back Daryl and Glenn you come with m-" dad was interrupted by a baby crying.

We all turned around to face the entrance to our cell block. Maggie and Carl walked out and Maggie had Carl's jacket wrapped around something.
It was the baby, my sibling. Wheres mom?

Maggie was crying and Carl's face was red from crying.
"No no no no no no." I mumbled walking to them.
"Where is she. Where's mom?" I asked even though I knew.

No one answered. I dropped to the ground and sobbed into my hands. I heard dad do the same.
I need my mom. She can't be dead noooo.

"Let me see the baby." I heard Hershel say.

"What are we going to feed it? We got anything a baby can eat?" Daryl asked.

I stood up and wiped my eyes.

"The good news is, she looks healthy. But she needs formula, and soon or she won't survive." Hershel examined.

My baby sister.
I have a baby sister.
