Chapter 6

"We aren't coming." Morales said.
"What? Why not?" Shane asked.
"We feel it's safer out here." Morales answered.
We have them some supplies and they went on their way.
"Be safe." I said to them and they nodded.
"We will."
We all hop in the vehicles and we drive to the city.
We stopped on the highway and Jim says he wants to leave.
We all say goodbye and leave him at a tree.
I'll miss him.

When we get there it smells disgusting and it's almost dark.
Everyone piled out of the vehicles and walked up to the big metal door.
"Please let us in! We're a group of unharmed people with children please help!" Dad yelled as I went to kill some walkers that came by.
"Rick it's not worth it no one is in there!" Shane yelled.
Everyone started to get scared and that's when I saw it.
"The camera it moved!!" I screamed.
"Come on Lizzie." Shane said.
"No, listen here. We need a safe place please help us, please let us in," I yelled.
"LIZZIE COME ON!" Dad yelled.
"Please we have children and we are all scared to death."
"Lizzie!" Carl yelled.
"Please." I said into the camera.
"Please.." I trailed off.
I sighed and leaned against the door.
I slid down and that's when I felt it move.
"It's moving!" I yelled and they all walked away.
That's when I heard the clangs and the door burst open.
"Come in come in.". A Man said.
"I told you all!" I said as we walked in.
The man closed the door and introduced himself.
His name is Dr. Edwin Jenner.
"Why are you here? what do you want?" Dr. Jenner asked.
"A chance." Dad said and everyone agreed.
"That's asking an awful lot these days." De. Jenner said.
"I know." Dad said desperately.
Dr. Jenner's eyes wondered from the adults to me then to Carl and Sophia.
"You will all submit a blood test. That's the price of admission." Jenner explained.
I started shaking like crazy.
My eyes looked over to Shane, he was the only one who knew why I was afraid of needles.

Flashback 8 years old
"Get in the car kiddo." Uncle Shane said and I nodded climbing into the backseat.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"The zoo." Uncle Shane said and I squirmed in my seat excitedly.
We pulled into a parking lot.
"This doesn't look like a zoo." I sassed.
"Just c'mon kiddo." Uncle Shane said and I sighed.
We walked through the doors and I realized it was a hospital.
Uncle Shane took me to a room with a pretty nurse.
She was looking through a drawer and I saw her pull out a needle.
I screamed.
"Lizzie, Lizzie calm down." Uncle Shane said and I eventually calmed down.
the pretty nurse put the needle into my arm and I cried.
I jumped from the chair and ran out of the room.
"Lizzie!!" Uncle Shane yelled. I kept running until I was pinned to the ground.

REALITY.
I clenched my fists and my teeth as the needle sank into my skin.
I tried my best not to scream but it was so painful.
Just as the needle came out of my skin Dr. Jenner said this.
"Oh I'm sorry Lizzie, I lost the blood, I need to try again."
"No!" I yelled and stormed out
running into Shane.
I sighed and ran to what I now called my room.
I shared a room with Carol and Sophia, while Dad Mom and Carl shared a room.
I threw my bags down on the floor.
I looked in a closet and I found a small like 3 inch cot.
I put it in the furthest corner from the door in the room.

I dug through my bag and found my long green baggy sweatshirt from school before the world was hell.
It said Grimes on the back and 19 on the front which was my volleyball number.
I also found my pair of tight knee length black legging shorts. I changed then walked to the bathroom.
I found a toothbrush.
I grabbed it and put toothpaste on it. I brushed my teeth for like an hour before I was called down for dinner.
