My little sister. I text her checking up on her again. I know it's Alex and I trust him with my life but I want to make sure she's good. I don't think Gabriel would ever have the balls to do anything to her. He's a pussy. But then again I do think he's psychotic. I should beat his ass. "Aye bro!" Gabriel runs up to me with a grin on his face. He has a basketball in his hand. "Let's play." He turns the ball over to me and I smirk. "Yeah alright." We play on the court and I break his ankles. Just like I knew I would. I was always good at basketball. I had a D1 offer. I didn't know if I'd take it or not. Given that there was no guarantee I'd make it as far as professional basketball. And I didn't want to leave behind
whatever you would call this criminal business my uncle had. It always guaranteed I had money. Enough for Flor too. She was tough and she got her fair share of money too. I worried for her though. I tried keeping her away from the details but who am I kidding. She's in it. She makes money from it. She knows how to use a gun. She knows how to fight. She was always good at boxing. I saw the passion she had for it. Gabriel comes back from drinking water. He has feelings for her. I can tell. They're close. My sister tells him everything she went through with Skyler. And everything from her past. She trusts him. But I don't think she likes him back. Alex. I don't know. Alex hasn't even had sex in two years. He says he doesn't like it. He feels no attraction to most women at all. He's never even had a girlfriend. Not because he can't get any but quite literally because he doesn't want to. Alex is a handsome motherfucker I hate to admit. He has nice cars, hella money. I'm not kidding when I say girls flock to him everywhere we go. But he remains with a straight face and ignores all of them. Even the nice looking ones. But something about the way he is when Flor's around is different. I trust Alex and Francisco. But Gabriel does have a reputation for fucking blonde girls and leaving them hanging. I'd rather see Alex and Flor together. Alex isn't an expressive person. But I see that falter a bit when she's around. He looks at her and studies her almost. I can tell he cared when I'd say bits and pieces about what happened with her and Skyler. He seems like he wants to protect her. Gabriel seems like he's completely infatuated by her.

That flashback from the gym that day. Yup he's definitely fucking psychotic. He claims to have had feelings for my sister but wants to threaten her now.

Jesus. I was right about Alex. I've mentioned Flor to him. Asked how he felt about her. He didn't say anything. But he didn't seem surprised that I asked. I don't think he has feelings for her yet.

But I definitely think he's drawn to her. It's almost funny. They're both assholes. They're both strong and aggressive and that's almost what makes me picture them together being all cheesy and happy. My sister has always naturally been aggressive and hotheaded. But she use to be goofy. She use to socialize and talk to strangers and the thing was people always loved her.

But she doesn't believe that. Flor thinks she's a bad person. She thinks everyone secretly hates her and it makes her defensive. She stopped speaking unless spoken to. She just doesn't want people to perceive her. That's her way of gaining back control after everything she went through with people close to her, people she was her honest true self with, betraying her.

She has a hard shell but inside is just my little sister who got hurt. Alex was the same way. He was always serious and confident. But he used to make jokes about everything. He never took life too seriously. Until his mom died. I saw that shell go up. I'm tired of seeing the world hurt the ones I love. I'm only serious when I'm by myself.

I make sure to slap a smile on and act dumb whenever I go around anyone. I want to ease things up for them. Make them know it's okay to laugh and be open to the world again. Even if it decided to hurt you again. Flor texts me that they're at some fancy dinner. She says Alex drove her and that they're meeting the boys there. I wonder how she feels about him. I try to get something out of her because I'll admit im intrigued to see them together. They're quite literally the same person in two different bodies. I see them in eachother.
