Camp Crystal ~ Jaden Walton

chapter 1

" Mom do I really have to go?" I asked my mom as she was driving to Camp Crystal. I was dreading going to this camp. What makes parents so angry that they feel the need to send us to camps! I mean, I don't think I'm a bad kid but you never know.

" Yes Sage, you don't have a choice! You're going to have so much fun here, I went here as a kid," She explained, I feel like she shouldn't be talking while driving because she sucks ass at driving but, I guess it's whatever. I groaned and just stared out of the window.

Today is June 6th, and I will be at this camp till August 1st. For two months I have to be trapped in a shithole. The one good thing is I get to bring my phone. But "only to take pictures" Which is bullshit but I guess it's better than not bringing it at all.

" are you ready?" My mom exclaimed as she stepped out of the car. The camp had a huge sign at the front that read ' CAMP CRYSTAL'. I don't know how people could love these things.

" no. not at all," I said opening the car door and stepping out. I slammed her door and grabbed my duffel bag out of the back.

I just followed my mom up to the front, I could feel people staring at the back of my head. My mom eventually stopped walking and I heard a voice.

" Welcome to Camp Crystal! You must be Sage, Hi! I'm Mckenna, you can call me Kenna though!" She urged enthusiastically. I shook her hand when she held it out and she started walking toward the cabins. I followed her with my mother trailing behind us.

" So, here is your cabin! It is number 4, you will be sharing with 3 other girls! The Boy's cabin is right next to yours. These groups have been assigned so that with any group activities, these 8 people, including you. Are your teammates. So! That is all I can do for you but here is your key, go get settled! And remember to always have fun!" She said emphasizing almost every word. I gave her a fake smile and she walked away. My mom was standing behind me. I walked up to her and hugged her for a good amount of time before she let go.

" you will be okay! Just be nice and make friends!" She said grabbing my shoulders. I was about to say ' those are the two hardest things in the world' But I figured she would yell at me. I turned around and walked up to the cabin door. I turned back and mouthed ' i love you' To my mom and opened the cabin door with my key.

When I opened the door it revealed many things, for an instant, 4 beds scattered around the room, 3 were taken, so mine was the one by the window. I walked over to it and set my stuff down. I also saw that we have one bathroom. It is a very tiny bathroom. I walked out and looked around to see most of the room decorated with lots of different things, including old movie posters, The goonies, the outsiders, and a lot more. Then there was more of a girly side. I walked over to the poster side and was just admiring them before 3 girls walked into the cabin.

" Hi! you must be Sage! You are very pretty!" A girl around my height with brown hair said coming up to me and hugging me. I hate hugs unless they are from my mom. I was wearing a striped crop top and some jean shorts?

" yep, that's me," I said with a straight face.

" Well I'm Emma, that's Riley, and the last one is Ashley," She said pointing to each girl, the first 2 looked super mean but Ashley looked super nice. I hugged them all and then eventually Emma and Riley left, Ashley and I were the only ones in the cabin, it was pretty awkward.

"So, how do you like camp so far?" She asked sitting on her bed, she was the one with the old posters.

" I hate it if I'm being honest," I said sitting up on my bed and looking at her.
