Camp Crystal ~ Jaden Walton

chapter 7

I woke up the next day, and when I did I turned over to see a note on my bedside table. It read.

" Meet me at the dock - Jaden" So of course, I got excited. I hopped out of bed and put a sweatshirt on I walked out of the cabin and to the lake, but when I got there he wasn't there. I sat down on the dock and just looked at the water when I felt a pain in my back and cold water dripping down my neck, people were throwing water balloons at me.

" What, you think he would actually like you?" Cindy asked coming up to me on the dock, I gave her a disgusted look and stood up. I got right close to her and pushed her into the lake.

" oh! you thought you were prettier than me?" I mocked her.

" What the hell!" She yelled, Jaden came running down to the dock.

" What the fuck happened here," He asked.

" you're stupid ass friends," I said walking past him and back to the cabin.

" Sage I didn't know they were gonna do that," He apologized.

" Jaden, how many times am I gonna have to say that this, us isn't gonna happen no matter how hard you try, it's just not the right time," I told him. His face dropped and he walked out of the cabin.

I went and changed my clothes and then Ashley and I walked to the archery event thing that everyone had to go to. We waited in line and when it was my turn Jaden just had to go next to me.

"Sage," He spoke.

" Jaden, I wouldn't recommend pissing me off right now, I have a fucking bow and arrow," I snapped.

" Please just let me talk to you," He begged.

" Jaden," I said sternly.

" GUYS, NO ARGUING!" Counselor Abbie yelled. I looked back and shot the arrow right in the middle of the target.

" Sage, will you just listen," Jaden was following me.

" What Jaden," I sighed.

" Look, I'm not even friends with any of them, I'm friends with Myles but that's just because I have to be, I had no idea they were gonna do that, please forgive me," He apologized.

" Jaden, thank you for explaining. But we are never gonna be a thing, I just don't think it will work," I said walking off back to the cabin.

HUGE HUGE TIME SKIP

It is the last day at camp and I can't believe it. I never thought I would like this camp but it has become more of a home than my mine. Jaden and I didn't really talk all that much within the month. apart from me rejecting him, he started hanging out with a girl, I don't know her name but I don't give a fuck, he messed up so many times. We were still "friends" but we didn't really talk that much.

Anyways, we were packing up our cabin, knowing we would come back next year, we were all very sad to be leaving.

" If I'm being completely honest, I really don't want to leave, I don't want to go back to the real world," I laughed, I could feel some tears coming down.

" Hey, It's ok, we'll be back next summer okay? It will go by super fast!" Ashley came and hugged me. I finished packing up my bag and then walked out of the camp with my big duffel bag. Ashley and I walked to the front of the place and waited for everyone else.

I was waiting basically by myself while Ashley went to the bathroom, Jaden and his friends ended up by the front and when Ashley came back Jaden walked over to us.

" Hey, can I take her?" He asked Ashley, she nodded her head and I walked away from both groups with him.

" How you been?" He asked.

" fine, you?" I asked.

" I'm good, uh here," He said handing me an envelope with my name on it.

" don't, don't open till you're in the car or something," He said looking down.

" Thanks, J," I smiled. He just looked at me and I gave him a hug. I dug my head into his neck and his hands were wrapped around my waist, I wrapped my hands around his neck and we stayed there for a little while before we heard a siren. We let go and I just gave him a look before walking back to Ashley.

" well that was awkward," She laughed. I just gave her a death glare when I saw a bunch of cars pull up, It was obviously our parents so most of us started walking to the cars we recognized. I saw Jaden walk to a black truck and a woman got out and hugged him, a boy that looked like him and an older girl did too. Im guessing it was his twin, Javon, and sister Jayla. He turned around and smiled at me before he got into the truck. My mom pulled up so I walked to her car, before I got in I waved to Ashley and set my bag in the bag seat. I got into the passenger seat and hugged my mom.

" hi!! How was camp? Did you like it? Meet anyone? Ooh did you find a boy?" She rambled on.

" I loved camp mom, I wanna go back next year, I did meet someone, her name is Ashley, and I found a boy but he wasn't for me," I said smiling at her. She just kept asking questions while we drove home. When we got home I went straight to my room and layed on my bed. The sweet sweet bed that I missed so much. Then I remember about the letter so I pulled it out of my bag and sat on my window sill. I opened the envelope to a piece of paper. I unraveled it and it had many words on it.

Dear Sage,

I know I wasn't the nicest this summer, I know that you hate me and that is 100 percent my fault. I want you to know that I'm not mad at you for not wanting a relationship. This summer was probably one of my favorites even if I barely got to talk to you. Just seeing you laugh and be happy made me happy. Meeting you was the highlight of my summer and I wouldn't change that for the world. Keep smiling through it Sage, I'll miss you, till next summer.

I closed the note and realized I was crying. My mom barged into my room.

" Hey sweetie dinner is rea-" she started.

" Oh, Hunny what's wrong!?" She asked walking over to me.

" Nothing mom, I'll be down in a second," I smiled and wiped my tears.

She left my room and I got up, walked to my desk, and pinned the note on my cork board above my desk. I smiled at the note and walked downstairs for dinner.

Till next summer.

Stay tuned for the next part! my hands are like cramping from all the writing in the past 3 days so I will write more tomorrow. my last day of school is Friday then I can write all summer cause I have no friends.
