"I can't believe you kept this from us," I said as Kai, Caden, Tony and I were in my office after our gender reveal. Both my brother and Tony gave us sheepish looks as Caden held little JJ. Yes, I was the first to give my nephew a nickname and I think it's fitting considering his first and middle names both start with the letter J.
"It's not that we didn't want to tell you, it was more like we wanted to surprise you both," Caden said rocking JJ. He was absolutely beautiful. Seeing Caden and Tony finally have the family they've been trying for years was amazing. They were going to be the perfect parents for this little baby. And that little baby was lucky to have two of the most incredible, loving and perfect people like my brother and Tony as his parents.
"We're so happy for you both," Kai said with a smile as he pulled my brother and baby JJ into a gente hug, "I can't wait to watch you be the parents that you were destined to be."
"You're going to be amazing parents," I said and Caden smiled, "Mom would be proud of you."
"I'm grateful to have your support," He said as he liked up at me and I shook my head, "Yes. You've been not just my brother but also my father and mother all wrapped in one and I don't know what my life would have been had you not stepped in when you did all those years ago when you took over the gang."
"I wouldn't have allowed you to live a life without a support system, Cade." I said and he blinked, his eyes watering, "Even if I hadn't taken over the gang, I would have still taken you with me wherever I went. Mom wouldn't have wanted you to be subjected to a life of hell with him."
"And I would have gone with you," he replied and I sighed smiling.
"I'm proud of the man you've become, Kid." I said and he rolled his eyes but before he could say anything else, there was a knock of my door and Kai walked over to open it.
"I want to meet my cousin," Cryler teasingly said as he and his brother, Jayson, walked into my office with Ryker in tow with his and Cryler's son.
"Did you wash your hands?" Caden asked with a raised brow at Cryler who rolled his eyes but nodded, "Be careful so you don't wake him."
"I know I know," Cryler said with an eye roll before he leaned into my brother to see JJ, "My goodness, he's adorable." He whispered in awe as he looked at the baby in my brother's arms.
"He looks like you both," Jay said looking over his younger brother's shoulder. Jayson and Cryler were 14 and 16 when I found them seven years ago when I was 20. I had been driving to my office when I saw them. I had Axel find and bring them back to the house while I was at the office. I still remember them being terrified when I showed up late that day.
"Who are you and why are we here?" Jayson had asked as he held his brother.
"My name is Ezekiel Robertson, and I'm the leader of the Ravance. The biggest mafia gangs in the country. And you are here because I found you in an ally." I said and their eyes only grew wide at the mention of my name and my gang. "You don't have to be afraid of me." I watched as they scooted away and I purses my lips but said nothing more. They and the right to be afraid. I was a stranger to them, a strange that had a gang. "What are your names?"
"For what? So you could kill us later?" Jayson asked I rolled my eyes at his words, it took me a long while after that to get them to trust me. Eight months to be exact. They slowly began to open up to me and eventually they told me that their parents had been killed during a break in and that they ran out of their house.
I did some digging and it was true, their parents, Crystal and Jaxson were killed during a home invasion only three months before I found them on the streets. The perps were still on the lose and after more digging found who they were and sent my men to find them and dispose of them by throwing them to the sharks. In other words, they were placed on the doorsteps of the police department with a note telling them that they were the men they had been searching for in connection to the Gonzales home invasion murders.
I officially adopted them and changed their last names to mine after that and though they grew up as my sons, they called me by my name and occasionally they'd refer to me as dad.
"Zeke?" I blinked at my name being called to see that all eyes were on me, I raised a brow and Kai rolled his eyes, "where on earth were you for the last half hour?"
"Sorry, I was just thinking. What were you saying?" I asked rubbing the back of my neck making Cryler and Jayson smirk and I rolled my eyes at them.
"We were heading to the dining room for dinner, are you going to join us or are you going to go back to your dream?" Kai asked as he stood by the doorway and that's when I realized that Tony and Caden had left leaving only the five of us—Kai, Ash, Cryler, Jayson and me—in the living room. I nodded and walked over to him before taking Ashton off of him.
"Come, don't want to keep the others waiting." I said and he nodded before ushering the other two out of the living room.

"What happened earlier?" Kai asked making me look at him as he walked back into our room after putting Ashton down for bed.
"What do you mean?"
"You were spaced out for a long while when Cryler and Jayson came over to meet the baby," He said climbing into the bed and I sighed.
"Just remembering the day that I found them." I replied and he raised a brow so I retold the story of me finding the brothers. He was silent the entire time only gasping or cursing at times.
"I knew you were a wonderful man," he said when I finished the story making me chuckle, "Seriously, Zeke. I mean who would take two boys in after what they've gone through without knowing them? I mean they could've been the killers for all you knew."
"I know. I took my chances even knowing they could have been the ones who killed their parents." I said and he nodded.
"Did you ever tell them that?" He asked and I sighed nodding, "how did they take it?"
"They were upset but at the same time understood because who wouldn't suspect of them after having left their house the second their parents are killed."
"But luckily you found their real killers and they turned out to be great guys. Hell, Cryler is even married to your best friend." He said biting his lip suppressing a smile making me raise a brow and he cracked and burst into laughter,
"What?" I asked confused and he shook his head but his laughs continued making me watch him confused.
"Oh my god," he wheezed making me blink in confusion. My husband is a complete weirdo.
"Cryler and Ryder," he laughed making me furrow my brows not understanding what he means by that, "oh my god," he wiped his eyes and took deep breaths to calm down but seeing my confused expression only made him burst into laughter all over again. "Ow, ow," he huffed rubbing his belly and I panicked thinking something was wrong only for him to chuckle and rub his bump shaking his head,"I shouldn't have laughed that much."
"Will you tell me what brought on your laughing fit?" I quizzed.
"Ryder is both your best friend and son-in-law" he grinned making me blink and stare at him before rubbing my face in exasperation. "That's funny."
"I didn't really think of that," I grumbled and he chuckled and patted my shoulder.
"It's okay, honey," he teased, "our children won't be marrying any of your friends when they're older."
"I sure hope not."
