I was just finishing going over the gangs finances when there was a knock on my door making me look up to see Caden poking his head in before pushing the door further and crossing his arms

"Please tell me you didn't forget" he asked making me furrow my brows

"Forget what?"

"You're kidding right?" He asked in exasperation throwing his arms in the air making me raise a brow in confusion, "you're impossible I don't know how Kai delas with you"

"What does he have to do with me forgetting something I don't even know about?"

"Caden? Have you found him yet?" Tony's voice asked before walking into the office before sighing and shaking his head, "why am I not surprised?"

"Okay can you two tell me what the hell is going on?"

"One word. Baby" he deadpanned making me widen my eyes before cursing as I stood from my desk and tossed on my jacket, "Don't even bother you dumb ass, Kai is in his room already. He didn't want to bother you which I think is stupid because he should have"

I clenched my jaw at that feeling utterly stupid for forgetting something this important. I looked at the calendar on my desk and saw today's date circled with 2:30 written on it with 'Baby appointment' written in red. That was more than two hours ago.

Fucking hell.

"Kai did come look for you half an hour before the appointment to remind you but you assured him that you'll meet him in the infirmary once you had finished going over the last financial paper work from your company,"Caden said and that's when I remembered Kai actually knocking on my door to remind me of the appointment before walking away.

I sighed running my fingers through my hair, "go and apologize you fucking idiot," Caden exclaimed throwing his arms into the air in exasperation and so I did. I left both Caden and Tony in my office while I ran down the hall towards the stairs before reaching Kai's door. I took a deep breath before knocking on it.

"He's not in his room" I looked toward the left where the sound of John's voice came to see him walking down the hall, "he's out in the garden. He left not that long ago" I nodded as a thanks before making my way down the hall towards the back doors and sure enough, Kai was sitting outside on the lawn caressing the rose petals. His long hair was up in a messy bun with a few strands lose around his face. And as usual he had on a spaghetti strap sundress that made him look as beautiful as always. A soft breeze passed among his hair flutter around his face before he was tucking them behind his ears. As if sensing my eyes on him, he looked up in my direction and gave me a soft smile and small wave.

I smiled before pulling the door open and stepping out and closing the door behind me. I walked towards the rose garden and joined Kai.

"Hey," I whispered as I sat beside him

"Hi," he replied with a smile

"I'm sorry," I said and he titled his head to the side making him look like a puppy

"For what?" He asked

"For forgetting about today. I didn't realize that it was this late until Caden and Tony came knocking on my door calling me a dumbass and idiot" he bit the inside of his cheek

"It's okay, you were busy" he answered but I shook my head

"That doesn't change anything. I promised that I'd join you in the infirmary after I had finished going over my company's paperwork but I didn't and instead I began to look over the gang's finances" I stated and he nodded

"Like I said, it's okay. You're busy with running a company and the gang so it's understandable that you would forget things even if they were important" he said tucking a strand behind his ear that had fallen loose but I shook my head again

"No it's not okay. My company and the gang's finances and other matters can wait," I said grabbing his hand and bringing it toward my lips before pressing a kiss to his fingers that caused him to blush, "you and this baby are far more important than anything and come first above everything else, so I promise on our next appointment that I'll put my other paper work on hold"

"Oh god no," Kai laughed at Tony's name suggestion

"What about Carson?" Caden asked and Kai hummed

"Put that in the maybe list," he replied making my brother whoop sticking his tongue at his husband who rolled his eyes

After Kai and I had our talk in the garden and with him telling me that we were expecting a boy we decided to tell both Tony and Caden which leads to us sitting in the living room with piles of baby name books. So far this whole choosing a name business was far harder than I expected it to be.

We've gone through more than five books and have only come up with three names so far.

"This is hopeless" Tony groaned breaking me out of my thoughts to see him throw his arms in the air

"It's not hopeless you just don't know how to pick a name" Caden teased

"Look who's talking, you only picked one good name among ten that you suggested" Tony retorted which made my brother gasp and put a hand on his chest in indignation. I rolled my eyes and shook my head at their childish antics while Kai giggled.

"Come on, I want to show you something" I whispered in Kai's ear while both Caden and Tony continued to bicker back and forth about who's good at picking names and who's not.

He nodded before we stood up as quietly as we could as to not catch their attention. I led him out of the house and towards the kennels. I haven't visited the kennels in weeks and I figured that I'd bring him to meet my dogs as he needs to get acquainted with them now that we're together.

"Where are y-" he asked but cut off when the sound of barking reached us, "is that what I think it is?"

We reached the far end of the kennels before stopping in front of the one where my dog, Venus, a blue nosed pit bull lay in her bed with her littler of puppies.

"Hi mama," I greeted the new mom who raised her head and looked at me with those gorgeous eyes that I fell for the moment I saw her five years ago, "I brought someone very special I want you to meet" I grabbed Kai's hand and she looked at him with a tilt of her head before giving a soft bark making Kai smile

"Hi, sweet girl," he whispered, "you've got beautiful babies" the puppies whimpered as they snuggled closer to her, "she won't be out here when it gets colder will she?"

"No, neither will the others. They'll be transported to one of the stables where they won't be cold and once winter ends they'll be back here." I replied and he nodded looking relieved at that, "they are never out here in the cold. We're not that heartless."

"Never said you were" he replied flicking me on the forehead making me chuckle.

"Come on, let's get back to the house it looks looks it's going to rain" I said looking up at the sky to see that it had turned dark in the few minutes we cama with here and he nodded before we made our way back.

"Where were you two?" Caden asked the second we stepped foot inside the house, "we were talking one minute and the next you two were gone"

"We went to see Pittie" I replied and he narrowed his eyes

"And you didn't tell us!?"

"Well you two were busy bickering about baby names that I decided to take Kai out to the kennels to meet Venus and her pups," I shrugged and he huffed

"Unbelievable" he grumbled before strutting away muttering under his breath about mean older brothers disregarding his feelings. I shook my head and looked at Kai who only giggled.

"Come on, let's go back to picking names for our baby"

"I like the sound of that"
