22. Zeke

"You'll be okay, love" I said as I watched Kai pace back and forth in our room.

"It's been years since I've seen them," he said stopping to look over at me as I sat on sofa in our room with Ashton in my arms, "I'm just nervous to see them again."

"I know but everything will be alright, they're your brothers and mother. I should be the one who should be nervous since I'll be meeting them for the first time not you," I said giving him a reassuring smile and he sighed.

"But you're not though, are you?" He asked and I smiled and shook my head but in reality I was nervous as hell. I mean I was meeting his mother and his brothers but I didn't need to tell him that as not worry him even more than already was.

Landon had told us that his wife and sons wanted see Kai the night before and though Kai was thrilled at the prospect of seeing them, he was nervous and I couldn't blame him. I mean anyone who had gone through what he did would be that way when seeing their loved ones again after running away. I stood up while being careful as to not wake the infant peacefully sleeping in my arms and walked towards him and cupped his cheek with one hand and said, "I'm going to be right there with you the entire time, if you feel overwhelmed just reach out and grab my hand okay?"

He bit his cheek before nodding closing his eyes and sighing. I leaned forward and kissed his forehead before saying that we should get downstairs as they should be arriving soon with Landon and John as they had both gone to collect them from the airport.

Caden, Tony, Caroline and River were all standing in the hall on each side of the stairs while Kai and I stood in the center with Ashton in my arms. The sound of tires on gravel only made Kai latch onto my arm tightly. All I did was lean closer to him giving him all my support.

"Are they moving here?" Caden asked as the sound of doors opening an closing was heard from outside as conversation between Landon and who in guessing is his wife filtered into our ears.

"If they wish to, yes, if not, they are more then welcomed to visit anytime they want" I replied

"Don't be alarmed by the all those men and women in gear or suits, they are all part of Zeke's gang" I heard Landon say as the front door opened

"Gang?" A woman's voice questioned making Kai suck in a breath which led me to know that it was his mother

"Don't worry about that for now, honey, for now I'm sure you're dying to see Kai," Landon said as he pushed the door open revealing a beautiful woman with black as midnight hair in a white t-shirt and jeans. Now I knew where Kai got his looks from. He was her exact replica aside from their hair color which he got from Landon. She stood frozen in the doorway as her eyes locked with Kai who stood motionless beside me.

Behind them were three older men. The one on the left had dark brown hair and looked to be about 29 years old while the one in the center looked to be about 32 with soft brown hair and the one on the right had blond hair the same color as Kai and Landon and looked to be about 26 years old.

"Kai," the one in the center said and before I knew it, Kai was running towards them. I stood back with the others watching as he reunited with his mother and brothers. I looked over when I heard a sniffle and saw Caroline dabbing at her eyes making me smile before turning back to see Kai being engulfed by all three men.

"Look at you, you squirt,"the one of the right teased with smile making Kai look up at him and smile, "you've grown kid."

I took my phone out when I felt it vibrate in my pocket to see a message from Cory saying he had something to show me. I looked up to see him standing on the opposite side of the hall towards the living room and nodded.

I put the phone away and looked towards my husband and his family. My heart swelled up at seeing him smiling that bright smile of his that I loved so damn much and only saw when he was truly happy.

"And who might these be?" The woman said looking in our direction which had Kai looking back to us and widening his eyes as a soft blush colored his cheeks at realizing we were still present.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry," he apologized.

"There's no need to apologize, Kai," Caden said with a chuckle, "I would have done the same had I been in your shoes."

I felt a pang at his words but nodded my head in agreement much like Caroline, River and Tony did.

"I'm Caden Robertson, and this here is my husband, Tony," he introduced himself and Tony who gave a nod in greeting.

"And I'm Caroline and this is my fiancé, River," Caroline said with a smile as she introduced herself and River to Kai's mother and brothers.

"And the one in the center is my husband, Zeke," Kai said with a smile.

"It's lovely to meet you all, I'm Monica, and these men here are my sons, James, Ryan and Alexander," Kai's mother said as she introduced herself and Kai's brothers to us.

"Nice to meet you all as well," we all said making her smile while her sons looked at us with suspicious eyes but I ignored it and walked towards Kai.

"And this here is our son, Ashton," he said as he held our son.

"Oh goodness," Monica whispered in awe.

"I apologize to have to cut our meeting short, but I need to take care of some work, but why don't you all head to the living room and catch up there? I'll join you as soon as I am done" I said making Kai look up with a frown but I gave him a reassuring smile and he nodded giving me one as well.

"That's sounds like a good idea, come on, we'll be more comfortable there then standing here the entire time," Caden said and they nodded and so with that Kai's parents and brothers followed him and the others to the living room leaving Kai and I alone in the front foyer.

"I'm sorry for leaving you alone with the when I said that I'll be with you the entire time," I said but he shook his head with a smile.

"Don't be, Zeke, just hurry okay?" He asked and I nodded.

"Will do," I said pressing a kiss to his forehead before making my way in the opposite direction of the living room towards the CCTV room where Cory and Jamerson were waiting.

"So what is it you needed to show me?"

"This" Jamerson said clicking on a few keys and pulling up the front surveillance camera footage.

"Son of a bitch."
