chapter three

"i don't know.. i don't like this too much."

the sixteen year old messed with the sleeve of his white, zip-up hoodie as he stood anxiously behind his only friend, looking around the loud, crowded house.

"c'mon 'oshi," darian hummed loudly, much too loud for kiyoshi who like he did with everything, wished he would've stayed home with his mother or his cat instead of agreeing to come to a party full of dancing, drunk teenagers who were either so high they couldn't move or were on the verge of fucking somebody out in the open. "you actin' like we meetin my weedman or somethin! he's a chill dude, i promise. we used to play together as children and shit. you might remember him."
"i won't." kiyoshi mumbled, causing darian to giggle despite the fact that the boy was being serious. "what's a weedman?"
"kiyoshi." darian blurted, looking down at the sixteen year old who blinked up at him. "you serious?"

much to darian's dislike, the younger nodded, not a hint of sarcasm upon his soft features. the only thing kiyoshi really knew was that he did not know much, and that was simply the way he was constructed.

sheltered wasn't even the word to properly describe the boy's knowledge, because it implied he was being kept away from what he knew. yet, kiyoshi knew plain to nothing which was undoubtedly bad for someone of his age. to have innocence about your nature was one thing, but to be completely clueless about very real things such as drugs and things of that sort was another. kiyoshi supposed he had never really been exposed to anything either, and it didn't help having such a protective mother.

"a weedman is someone who sells.. weed?

"..right." kiyoshi noted, nodding as if he got what was being said so that he did not look more childish than he already did. "sorry."

the truth of the mater was that kiyoshi hadn't done most things. no first kiss. no holding hands. no boyfriend or girlfriend or anything inbetween, and definitely no sex.

however, when you spend all of your time since the age of eight blanking out at white-walls, going outside once a day, and not even being able to carry a pen in the fear that you might somehow use it to harm yourself, you don't know or do much.

"don't worry about it, i'm just teasin you." darian said, greatly reliving the other boy who simply just returned his smile, about to ask what exactly to do at a party before his statement was interrupted.

"hey darian," a boy with black hair greeted. kiyoshi glanced over at the tall boy who seemed to sort of loom over him, observing his pale skin and smiling lips- his messy, black hair and athletic frame that was a killer combo with that pretty face of his- but most of all, those eyes that seemed to directly pierce into him. "..hey."
"hey eric bae." darian yelled, practically jumping onto the teenager who was blushing for some reason- until the annoying dreadhead had began to try to kiss him and climb over him as if he was a jungle gym. "missed you."
"get off of me, please." the seventeen year old pleaded, his voice rooted in disgust as the shorter finally let go off him.

"kiyoshi, this is my boyfr-"
"i'm not his boyfriend." eric finished in a completely straight tone, blinking over at kiyoshi who simply smiled in amusement.

"that's right, cause you swear you're his righ-"

"kill yoursel-"

"kiyoshi!" darian exclaimed, patting the taller on the back as if showing him off to the confused boy who wasn't sure what to think of anything that had happened. it was obvious that they were friends but still.. eric's words did not match darian's and kiyoshi couldn't help but to be wary. "this is eric! eric, this is kiyoshi!"
"hi." kiyoshi greeted, eyeing the hand eric extended that was probably intended for a handshake but kiyoshi preferred not to- in fact, he preferred not to be touched by anybody, especially not after all that had happened that day.
"uh, hello," eric muttered, quickly tucking away his hand in mild embarrassment. "it's uh, nice to see you after a long time."
