"uhm.. what?"
the small murmur that came from kiyoshi, whom squinted his eyes over at the two boys standing decidedly behind him, was composed of pure confusion and of slight, reluctant shock.
"are you going to say no?" mariano asked directly, raising a brow over at the boy who's heart dropped weakly into his stomach as he seemed to hold onto the top of his chair for safety, something that mariano noticed with a bit of amusement. "mateo. he does not want to be our partner."
"is that so?" the boy standing slightly behind the arrogant older, who was well aware of what he was doing with calling the attention of others to him with his loud volume and therefore outing kiyoshi's actions, reciprocated, equally as loud before he slightly frowned in mock pity. "mm. i thought that he was nicer mariano. it is sort of hurtful to my feelings, no?"
"yes, me as well." mariano agreed, speaking over the weak attempts of the poor boy who simply could not get the two to shut up no matter how hard he tried. "my chest hurts. i may pass out."
"me as well." mateo followed. "there is an ache in my lungs now. who knew he was so rude?""please." kiyoshi spat, the pretty boy who rarely showed any adverse emotions furrowing his thin eyebrows with frustration as he got down from the chair with a hesitant sigh. it was too embarrassing to say anything to his friends who had been silent for a while as he grabbed his notebook, walking over to where the two were sitting. "be quiet."
"very, very sorry." mariano apologized playfully, his eyes twinkling as he sat down next to the boy who sat at the seat farthest to the right. mateo sat direcly across from kiyoshi, meaning that in other words all eyes were on the boy who wasn't sure quite what to do with the pair. if their resemblance was barely physical, it was present quite soically and mentally, clear in how they both stared at him with a quality of focus kiyoshi wasn't quite sure how to perceive.
"s-""sembra così nervoso. quanto è divertente." mateo cut off, speaking to his cousin who nodded in an entertained agreement.
"la mia bellezza è molto timida." mariano smirked, his black eyes twinkling as kiyoshi simply blinked over at him in pure disbelief in the way he simply seemed to disregard him. "è divertente giocare con lui."
"a-""so we can either talk about how taxes impact the economy of the uganda," kiyoshi interuppted suddenly, butting in so harshly the two had no choice but to finally listen to the annoyance in his soft voice as he wrote in his notebook. "or the effects of chinese exports on the world as a whole. please choose one so we can all know our parts."
"can i see the notes?" mateo asked, mariano falling silent for some reason as kiyoshi nodded enthusiastically, hopping on any chance present to urge them to actually move foward with something. the sixteen year old slid the semi-full page towards mateo, who began to study the words in a genuine focus- that, or his timing simply testified to how well he knew the boy sitting diagonal from him."you look like a girl."
kiyoshi's visibly soft, slightly glossed lips fell open immediately in a deep mortification that was somewhat dumbfounded at the rather blunt statement.
"w-what are you talking about?" kiyoshi said quietly, his voice shaking as he avoided the older's black eyes. "im very obviously a boy."
"yes, but you are always wearing tiny shorts and blushing." mariano hummed, spouting somewhat childish, immature observations but observations nonetheless- ones that he had picked up from his countless glances at him. "are you gay?"
"no." kiyoshi muttered, causing the other to completely stop.
"yes you are." mariano argued. "you are too short and skinny to have sex with women."
