"just ask her. i really, really want you to come!"
kiyoshi looked over at his friend while carefully placing his books back in his locker, his almond-shaped eyes sparkling with the small excitement amusement always brought to his dark chocolate iris'.
"i will try." kiyoshi said, grabbing his backpack and putting it back onto his shoulders, slightly causing darian to huff over at his clean-cut, somewhat 'play it-safe' persona that never changed, nor even when it came to simple things like asking his mother to go to the movies which in an of itself was confusing. why should a sixteen year old with full capabilities to drive have to ask to go to a social outing- and one quite dull, as well?
perhaps it was because asking his mother was merely a front kiyoshi threw up for such occasions; his mother would all go quickly say yes and encourage him heavily to go out often with his two friends but he tended to shy away from asking or trying for that matter. it wasn't that he did not care to be around them. it was quite the opposite, actually- it was just that kiyoshi's wavering nerves were always focused on his mother's health that had always been rather poor, and being pregnant did not help either. he worried that while he was out maybe she would need him; that maybe she would somehow get worse, and he'd be nowhere near to prevent it from stopping.
he wasn't sure why he was so nervous about it; he just was.
for a long time after majime, it had only been those two together through thick and thin and in a way, she was as precious to him as water is to the body. he was unsure how his morality and consciousness would develop without someone so loving , cheering , and supporting to walk with him and hoped that he never had to encounter her absence.
sure, there was his stepfather, but he was almost no help. all he did was go away on business trips for whatever shady job it was that he had and send money back every few months. kiyoshi did not like him at all; not one bit.
"please do. i- we almost never get to see you." the boy, standing behind the junior whom had barley taken a notice to him included, attracting the attention of the shorter who simply smiled over at eric. kiyoshi didn't exactly say anything, supposing that a smile would be best in the somewhat awkward situation and eric assumed the same, embarrassed as he smiled down over at him who was clueless as to why he'd single himself out as if darian ever got to see kiyoshi either. it was somewhat confusing, but so was everything eric did- the things he said, the faces he made, the stares he gave .. he was strange, and if he wasn't as cute as he was then perhaps the sixteen year old would be slightly more skeptical about it but for the time being decided to simply categorize eric as a bit .. funny.
"i'll try guys." the sixteen year old simply repeated as he began to gather his needed materials, completely missing the urging glance darian gave to eric- one with wide eyes and stupid hand signals that included pointing to kitosjo when his back was turned and using his thumb and seersting it from his other fingers so as to imitate a talking puppet- one that did not at all get across to eric who simply stood there with a slightly reddish tint on his face as if he refused to acknowledge anything darian was doing out of obvious fear.
