After about 3 hours of appointment after appointment, I leaned back to stretch my bones, mainly my back. Standing up, I went to go find Gabe but before I could, my cellphone rang.
Knowing I wouldn't have another appointment in the too near future, I decide to pick it up, seeing my sister's name on the caller ID. "Hey Laur. What's up?"
"Hey sis. I was just talking to a few friends of mine and realized we hadn't hung out in a while. Would you be interested in meeting and catching up with each other, like we used to?"
Realizing she was right, I checked my calendar, checking my next free day. "How about tomorrow? I only have two appointments then and could meet up after two?"
"Sounds great! Do you want to meet at my house, yours, or that Cafe you love?"
"Cafe for sure. Last time, my visit was a bit interrupted so I'll be sure to enjoy myself this time."
"Hah, definitely. By the way, I wanted to thank you."
Thank me?
"What for?"
"The flowers silly! They're beautiful, though a little strange."
The hell is she on?
"Uh, you take your meds this morning? I didn't send anything." I was honestly confused before I heard Gabe yell for me.
"One sec sis."
Putting her on mute, I walked to Gabe's portion of the office, phone in hand. But once I saw what he held, I froze.
"We had an anonymous person send us a bunch of flowers, Doctor Moon! Though I have to say, black roses aren't what I'm used to when it comes to flowers." Gabe explained the reason of his shout, holding a red vase containing a bouquet of thorny black roses...
...much like the ones I found in my car after grocery shopping.
Putting the phone to my ear and taking it off mute, I spoke. "Laura. Those flowers sent to you, were they, by chance, black roses?"
"Yes actually, I had to be careful while handling them as they were quite thorny. Why, is everything okay?"
"Burn it."
"What?"
"I did not send those flowers. But I did find that someone snuck black thorned roses into my car and now someone has not only sent those roses to you but my office building."
Turning to Gabe, he was wide eyed and pale. "S-shall I burn these, Doctor Moon?"
"Throw them out, burn them, I don't care. I want not a single rose of those in my office. Am I understood?"
"Crystal clear, miss." Saluting me with two fingers, Gabe went to work destroying the leafage in her office building.
"Sis? Then... who sent this?"
"Probably the same guy who gets a boner over anything related to Margaret."
A sigh was heard over the phone. "Jimmy."
"Bingo. I'm gonna call her and ask if she got any. In the meantime get rid of those flowers sis, I mean it."
"Already on it. Ok I'll hang up, you call Margaret... and I'll see you tomorrow?"
"See ya Laur. Talk to you soon."
"Bye."
A click resonated in the phone before I began to dial Margaret's phone number. It rang a few times, prolonging my anxiety, before someone finally picked up.
