Hearing my alarm clock blare to life had me shoot upwards, smacking the thing til it shut off. Hopping out of bed, I walked into my bathroom, grabbing myself a powder blue silk robe.

Turning on the shower, disrobing and stepping in, I had my mind wander to yesterday's prior events. The flowers letting Jimmy find Margaret, Margaret's roommate, Jamie, being a traitor and working for Jimmy, starting Margaret's employment with me, the secret cameras and speakers, Jimmy's corrupted email, and the invitation to celebrate Gabe's birthday.

That was a loaded fucking day.

Grabbing some vanilla shampoo, I lathered it in, preparing for what was probably another long day. The vanilla scent of my shampoo mixed well with the added smell of my cinnamon conditioner. Washing out the excess product from my head, I also used my unscented body wash, making sure I shaved my legs and armpits as a personal preference.

Finally stepping out, I dried off with my soft grey towel and threw on my robe, it reaching my shins. Brushing my teeth, I gargled some mouthwash before spitting and exiting the bathroom.

Hearing my niece singing downstairs again, likely making breakfast, made a smile form on my face. Walking downstairs, the smile just continued growing.

Noticing my arrival, Zeus let out a low whine and wagged his tail, clearly hungry and wanting food. Cynthia also meowed loudly, hopping on the counter to paw at my chest.

Chucking softly, I brought out the oversized dog food bag out, pouring it in his bright red bowl before putting it away in the pantry. After I saw him starting to eat, I also grabbed a can of tuna, setting it on a plate and having Cynthia eat from it.

"While the animals eat, I made us some food. Eggs and bacon with cinnamon rolls, one each." Margaret announced proudly, untying the pale pink apron from her waist.

"Well I'd hate to waste our favorite meal so let's eat up! We got a big day ahead of us!" Sitting down, I reminded Margaret of our day's planned events.

"Right so what's the plan for my first day?"

"Gabe will be teaching you the ins and outs of being the secondary receptionist, so listen to him as he is your senior in that regard. Besides that we have the meeting with your mom at 2:00, after my two scheduled appointments. She's meeting us at the Café." I reminded her of all our stops for the day.

"Ooh! Busy day indeed. And then tomorrow is our day off and we'll be meeting Gabe at the bar for his birthday celebration, right?" Margaret asked as she speared a part of her eggs.

"You got it, toots. So eat up now then we can get dressed and head out." Talking over, we ate in comfortable silence.

Being the first finished, I stood and stretched, before grabbing my dishes, tossing them in the sink. 'I'll do these later. For now I'll check out the back door.'

"I'm gonna do my rounds then get dressed. Go ahead and finish before you do the same."

"Yes mother." She sassed me, making me arch an amused eyebrow.

Shaking my head, I stepped outside, noticing the lack of dead birds or any other assorted animals. Grabbing a watering can, I went ahead and gave my plants a good dose of water before setting the can down and walking back inside.

Noticing my niece's absence, I assumed she went to get dressed. Deciding to do the same, I headed upstairs.

Putting on a pair of black slacks with a red top and a matching black blazer, I grabbed my purse and slipped on my normal black heels. Finally I put my long hair into a high ponytail, getting the strands out of my face.
