Chapter Twenty-Nine

"What did you just say?" Tanong ni Ruby habang gulat na gulat kagaya ng lahat ng mga naroon.

"Piedro, what are you saying?" Si Marita na hindi na maipinta ang mukha. "You're talking nonsense."

"Dad, what are you talking about?" Segunda naman ni Lovely.

Don Piedro remained serious and is staring back at Vixyn.

"Vixyn is my daughter." At may inilabas na isang nakatuping papel mula sa bulsa sa loob ng coat nito. "I have the DNA result here and it's a match."

Biglang hinablot ni Marita ang papel at sinuri iyon.

"No! This isn't true! It's impossible!" Hindi makapaniwalang sambit ng ginang. "How did this happen?"

"I don't know." Sagot ni Piedro habang kay Vixyn nakatitig. "But I-... -I am so happy that I have found her again." At tuluyan nang naluha ang matandang lalaki. "I never thought this day would come, that I can see my 'Mija' again."

Vixyn's tears started falling too and she couldn't stop it. Waves of emotions are building up inside her and she doesn't know what to do about it.

"I can't deal with this right now, I'm going home." Ani Marita na nagmadali nang lumabas ng kwarto.

"Mom!" Tawag ni Lovely at sinundan ang ina ngunit bago lumabas ay nilingon muna si Vixyn at nakipagpalitan ng titig.

Kita niya na lumuluha na din ang dalaga at halatang nasasaktan bago tuluyang lumabas na roon.

"Vixyn-" tawag ng matandang Zaldana. "I know this isn't the right time coz you just had an accident and are still recovering but I don't want to waste another day without telling you the truth." And he stepped forward. "I felt something familiar whenever I see you but I just shrugged off the feeling. And then when Matheus told me that you needed a blood transfusion but couldn't find a donor because of your rare type of blood, AB-, that's when I thought of something. I donated my blood and I have us checked for DNA test."

Ruby couldn't comprehend the things she was hearing right now. It's too much for her to handle, it's overwhelming.

Napahawak siya sa kanyang ulo dahil may mga alaala noong kabataan niya ang sumisingit.

"Baby, are you alright?" Ani Percy na tinabihan na ang asawa. "I'm sorry, Uncle P, but I think my wife needs to rest now. Maybe you can come back again tomorrow."

Piedro sighed and nodded in agreement. He can't push his daughter to just accept the truth right away. He knew she needed time to comprehend those things.

"Alright, I'll leave for now. But I'll come back tomorrow and I'll answer all your questions, Mija." Pagkatapos ay lumabas na ng kwarto ang matanda na sinundan ni Don Matheus.

Nang silang dalawang mag-asawa na lamang ang naiwan doon ay saka lang humagulgol si Vix ng iyak.

"Oh, Baby." At niyakap ni Percy ang misis. "Hush now. You need to rest."

"I don't know what to think." Ani Ruby sa pagitan ng paghikbi. "I don't know what to feel. All along I thought I was alone, that I have no family except my sisters I had on the island and the one I have right now." Tukoy niya sa kanyang mag-aama. "I can't believe that I still have a father... that Don Piedro Zaldana is my father."

Bumitiw si Percy sa yakapan nila upang tingnan ang kanyang mukha.

"You are the Zaldana's long-lost heiress. The one and only heir to the Zaldana Corporation."
