I THINK THIS SMALL INTERVIEW PART IS JUST HILARIOUS
~*~
Dave drove me to a small cute square downtown. Because it was morning the air was chilly and there weren't many people outside yet.
We stepped out of the car on a small square and both put our sunglasses on. It may be chilly, but the sun was always shining here.
Market stalls were spread all over the square and in front of different stores planters with beautiful flowers stood.
I tugged Dave's arm. "Dave! Look how cute." I pointed at all the different flowers at the market stall.
"I guess so." He smiled, not knowing what else to say. I looked around and noticed a lot of people were staring at us. I shrugged it off, but Dave already noticed.
"Is there something wrong?" Dave asked suspiciously.
I looked around for one last time to make sure, but saw that most people had continued their daily routines. I shook my head, "Nah. I'm just craving an ice-cream."
"Ice-cream for breakfast? You are one weird person Cher." He laughed "Lucky for you I know they have some delicious ice-cream there." He pointed at a small ice parlor and I instantly replaced my pout with a wide smile.
Dave walked in and held the door open for me. I thanked him and walked in.
A little bell tinkled a welcome, and the door, closing, shut out the clamor of the street. We were the only ones in the parlor. Probably because there are not many people who crave an ice-cream like I do this early in the morning.
The middle aged woman behind the counter smiled at us. "Welcome to my ice-cream parlor. What can I get you?" Her eyes were wide and she smiled so brightly I didn't think it was normal anymore.
Before either Dave or I could say something, she continued talking. "Oh, and Dave. I watched the interview you did on your brother. I absolutely loved it!" She clapped her hands excitedly and tried to offer Dave some weird charming, and maybe even flirty, smile, but failed miserably.
This woman was like forty! I pitied Dave right now.
"Thank you." He smiled, but you could see it was forced and he was clearly uncomfortable. Being the good person that I am, I tried to help him out.
"I'd like a scoop of-" I walked pasted all the flavors, "yogurt ice-cream, please." I smiled politely. "What about you?" I faced Dave.
"One scoop of coffee." He mouthed a thank you when the woman wasn't looking.
The woman made our ice-creams and gave them to us. I placed a $10 bill on the counter.
"Hey, what are you doing?!" He was just taking his wallet out of his jacket. I placed my hand on his arm and stopped him, "Please, I want to make up to you for last night. At least let me treat you this ice-cream."
Dave sighed, but put his wallet away. "Fine, but from now on you'll let me treat you."
I mumbled, "Keep the change." and we walked to a table nearby the windows.
I had a lot of questions after what the woman had said. When I met Dave he avoided talking about his work and now this woman talking about an interview with his brother. I had the feeling he was hiding something.
Of course I could be totally wrong, but I just had to ask.
"You come here often?" I asked him.
Dave seemed a bit distracted. "Yeah. This is my favorite parlor."
"So, why did you interview your brother?" I tried not to sound like an interviewer myself.
