Streaming stars abruptly halted as the ship dropped out of hyperspace to reveal the planet below. Naboo. The lush planet beamed brightly as Hux guided the ship down through its atmosphere and towards the landing bay at their outpost in the middle of the forest just outside the capital. The forest was overgrown and hard to see much further than a few metres ahead of you, something Hux wasn't fond of when he had to make the distance from the ship to the outpost. The distance between the landing bay and the outpost was around 70 metres, and while he was being accompanied by a small group of troopers and one of the assistances from the post, he had a feeling that something wasn't right; it was almost in the air.

'Now I sound like Ren with his karking force talk' Hux mused in his head as he reached for his travel bag in the co-pilot seat and stood, looking out the viewport to see the crew awaiting him. But as he turned his foot to make for the ramp behind him, there was the sound of blaster shots and each trooper fell to the dirt floor beneath them. Hux didn't wait around and quickly flung his body back into the pilot seat to engage the engines for take-off. Right as the ship cleared the roof of the forest, taking fire from blasters below, there came the deafening boom and alarms began to blare violently at the General. He managed to pilot the ship the best he could before the engine (the alarm that had been screaming at the ginger the loudest, signalling it was on the verge of giving out before doing so) blew up, making the tip of the ship make a swift dive into the foliage of the forest.

In the absence of General Hux as the main commander of The Finalizer, Kylo Ren was quick to realise he'd have to take his position as co-commander more seriously.

It started as him trying to get some training done in his training room, he was a quarter of the way through his usual routine (going rougher than usual, most officers would have described) when Lieutenant Mitaka granted himself access to the room. The lieutenant swiftly made his point of needing a commanding officer's signature and since General Hux wasn't present, Ren was required to sign. As Kylo grumbled under his breath about this and that while taking the data pad into hand, Mitaka tried his best not to stare at the mask-less knight in front of him, having only seen his face for the first time now. Once the (sloppy) signature was processed, Mitaka made a quick exit with a firm salute- Kylo resuming where he left off. But no more than ten minutes later was Mitaka returning with his data pad for yet another signature. Around an hour passed after these regular disruptions before Kylo barked at the Lieutenant to leave while he dressed accordingly to join the rest of the crew on the bridge.

As the day passed, the crew on the bridge slowly accustomed to the knight's presence and officers even dared to give their reports to him themselves instead of sending Mitaka, the bravest out of them all, to do it for them. When the alpha shift was coming to a close, officers and lieutenants readying themselves for the crew change over, there was a sudden loud beeping from one of the stations at the far end of the bridge. Kylo noticed how most of the crew now turned eerily quiet as some of them dashed over to the station to check what had occurred. He grew curious himself and walked himself over to the station, standing behind the officers as they rapidly spoke between them.

"What seems to be the problem?" Kylo questioned, his menacing voice coming through the vocoder instantly shutting up the grew.

"It's General Hux's ship, sir," one bravely spoke up, "it's gone missing."

Hux awoke to the sight and smell of smoke, and the distant cries of people nearing him. As he gradually gained further consciousness he became aware of the fact he was dangling on an angle, the seatbelt being the only thing keeping him from falling through the smashed windshield of the ship and into the ready-to-explode engine of the ship below. Hux also realised that the sound of other people closing in on the ship was most likely the same resistance fighters coming to finish the job; a part of himself hoped it was Kylo turning up to save him, but that was stuff was meant for people who deserved to be saved- Hux didn't.
