The Mistake

Chapter 21

Napatigil ako sa pagrecord nang makita ang pagliwanag ulit ng cellphone ko. It's been vibrating since earlier. I picked it up without looking at the caller's ID.

"Yes? Carli speaking."

"Where are you?"

Kumunot ang noo ko. "Gabriel?" Sinigurado ko pa ang pangalan. "Oh, Gabriel, why did you call?"

"You forgot that today's our practice."

Napahawak ako sa bibig at tinignan ang date sa cellphone ko. "Shit, ngayon na ba 'yon?"

"Yep, kanina pa kami naghihintay sa'yo dito sa club."

Bumalikwas ako ng tayo pero bago umalis ay sinave ko muna ang narecord ko kanina. "Sorry. I'm busy on something at the moment. I'll just change and go to the club. While I'm on the way, please pick songs."

"No worries. Take care."

Pinatay ko ang tawag at tumakbo na papalabas ng studio ko dito sa condo. Naligo ako at nagpalit ng isang maluwag na sando at maong na short. Hindi na ako nag-abala pang magblower ng buhok dahil nagmamadali ako. I just took my keys, wallet, cellphone, and hair tie.

Sa kakamadali ay sunod sunod kong pinindot ang down button ng elevator. Damn it! I don't want to use the stairs because I'm in the 60th floor. Nang bumukas ang elevator ay pumasok ako at pinindot ang button ng underground parking lot.

As soon as I got down on the parking lot, I activated my car and unlock the door using my car keys.

Sumakay ako at nagseatbelt bago pinaharurot paalis. Fuck! Weekend is my chillax time but here I am rushing to a club for a practice. Why did I even agree to this?!

Sa sobrang pagmamadali ko ay halos makabunggo na ako.

Pagdating sa parking lot ng club ay nilock ko muna ang kotse bago tumakbo papunta sa entrance.

Napatigil lang ako sa pagtakbo nang humarang ang  dalawang nagbabantay sa labas.

"Ma'am, hindi pa po bukas ang club. Mamaya pa pong alas kwatro."

Habol ang hiningang tiningnan ko ang oras. Shit! I wasted another 30 minutes of their day!

"Umm, I am Carli. Gabriel called me for practice today."

Napakurap ang lalaking nakalagay ang shades sa ulo. "Carli? Kayo po si Carli Meunier? Pasok po kayo, Ma'am."

"Thank you."

Pumasok ako sa loob at nakita ko sila agad. Rago is playing the drums, Ian is sitting on the stage with his phone together with Nathan, Gabriel was looking at a laptop and Rio was with him.

I cleared my throat to get there attention. "Umm hi?"

They all look at me at the same time. Rago shook his head and closes his eyes again.

"'Yon! Finally, she's here!"

"Ahh.. I'm in the meddling of a fight. Nate, why did you disconnected?!" Frustrated na sigaw ni Ian.

He stood up and pointed at me. "She's here."

Nakasimangot na binulsa ni Ian ang cellphone bago tumayo mula sa pagkakaupo. "Miss Meunier naman. I was about to win."

I smile at him and show a peace sign. Lumapit ako kay Gabriel. "Did you pick a song yet?"

"I did. Actually, WE did." He answered.

"What song?"

Si Rio na ang sumagot. "The song is called 'Somebody to you'."

"By The Vamps and Demi Lovato." Singit ni Ian na tine-testing ang keyboard.
