"Crossy Road" is an Australian-Chinese arcade video game released on November 20, 2014. It was developed by Australian indie game company Hipster Whale, founded on the same day the game was launched. The three main heads behind development were Andy Sum, Matt Hall and Ben Weatherall. Chinese game company Yodo1 Games also helped with releasing the game.

The game is basically a play on the anti-humorous joke, "Why did the chicken cross the road?", as the main character of the game is a chicken. As of right now, there are more than 300 characters to collect and play with. A majority of the characters you can get from a prize machine in the game, however there are over 50 characters unlocked through other methods, they could be secret characters won through other characters, or characters won through tokens in mystery boxes.

A lot has changed over the course of the game as years progressed, and there have also been limited-time characters. This game has improved a lot and impacted a lot of lives and childhoods, mine included, so I'm here to talk about how to get by in the game, and a run-through of the characters! :)

The original lineup of characters when the game was launched was as follows:

These 51 characters are the OGs of Crossy Road. Since then there has been massive development to the game and many more characters introduced, and it's character list has gotten so broad, that Crossy Road has designated categories for each of them, so I will run down each character by its category, starting with the Original Cast, the OGs. I will be using the words character and mascot interchangeably to describe who you can play the game with.
