Chapter 31

Introduce me to the pack?! Now? Nooo! I wasn't ready.

Zukile: "Precious one, it's something that we need to do."

Me: "I know but-."

Zukile: "No buts." He cut me off. I groaned as the knots in my stomach twisted up more. "You'll be fine, I promise. They already like you." I snorted not believing him. "They really do. I wouldn't lie to you." I gave him a squinting look. Damn. He was telling the truth.

I groaned.

Me: "Okay they like me but can we postpone the formal introductions to when I'm ready. You know I'm not good with people."

Zukile: "We're not postponing it."

Me: "Oh why not?" I cried. "Zuki let's postpone it okay? Please please please." I begged with my hands pressed together.

He shook his head.

Zukile: "Nope. I can let you have your way for many things except for this. I'm sorry, but you'll need to suck it up."

I blinked at him shocked.

Me: "Wow how very matey of you." I said  sarcastically after a few seconds.

He chuckled patting my head.

Zukile: "Baby this is me being matey." I rolled my eyes. "I don't know why you scared, I'll be with you the whole time."

I sighed.

Me: "I-I just..." I trailed off.

Zukile: "You just what?"

Me: "I don't know the first thing of being a Luna Zukile. With my personality I'm going to suck at it."

Zukile: "Impossible."

Me: "Hello? Have you met me? I'm a scaredy cat." He chuckled softly shaking his head. "I am!"

Zukile: "On the outside you might seem like the scaredy cat but I know you mate. There's a fire burning deep inside you waiting to be released."

I snorted loudly.

Me: "You don't know me."

Zukile: "I do." I shook my head.

Me: "If you did you wouldn't have said what you just said." I told him.

Zukile: "I said what I said because it's the truth. And I know you better than you know yourself."

Me: "Really? Just because we're mates?"

Zukile: "Yes."

I sighed knowing that I can't win against him.

Me: "I don't even know what it entails to be a Luna of a pack."

He held my face with both hands.

Zukile: "It's simple baby. Just think of yourself as the mother of the pack."

Me: "Mother?"

Zukile: "Yes."

Me: "Zukile that's even worse!"

Zukile: "How is it worse?"

Me: "I'm 18, I've never been a mother before."

Zukile: "Well there's first time for everything isn't it?"

Me: "Oh my god. You suck, you know that." He just smiled and gave me a light peck on the lips. "I'm telling you, I'm going to suck at this and it will be your fault."

Zukile: "Impossible."

I released a frustrated breath.

Me: "You're the one who's being impossible right now." He laughed. "W-What?" He was looking at me weirdly.

Zukile: "Nothing. It's just that you're coming out of your shell as we spend more time together."

Me: "Oh."

Zukile: "Remember how you used to be shy to even speak out to me. You wouldn't even meet my eye. Always looking down and biting that juicy lip of yours. But look at you now." He had a soft look in his eyes. I looked away and bit my lip. He chuckled. "There she is." He patted my head.

Me: "Stop teasing me."

Zukile: "Why? It's fun." I breathed giving him a stink eye. He winked. I sighed. "Let's go baby."

Me: "Zukile-."

Zukile: "You'll be fine. Everything will be fine. Trust me Precious one, okay?"

If he knew, he was the only one I trusted in this world. As I looked into his eyes, I felt my heart get full. This is it Zenande. There's not backing out now. You said you want him so take responsibility.

Me: "Okay, I'll trust you."

When we got there, already everyone was gathered around like they were waiting for us. Damn. All eyes were on me. Zukile led me to the front. There was a podium so which meant we were looking down at the people. I don't know but this made me feel so much exposed. Damn. Why did I agree to this again? You love him remember? And you're his mate. You don't have a choice. Fuck. Zukile's mind brushed against mine. I sighed relaxing. He's so good at doing that. Making me relax and calm.

Oh shut up

He chuckled in my head. I don't know how he did that but it was cool.

So nice having a cool mate isn't it?

Get out of my head!

His hand held the back of my neck squeezing it possessively.

Zukile: "Today is a joyous day." His voice rang out loud and clear as he began to address everyone. My body shook and wanted to cave in at the power and authority in it. I could see that I wasn't the only one affected by it because as soon as  he spoke, everyone lowered their heads. I got what it was. He was rendering everyone in submission with his Alpha voice. Sheesh. "Everyone felt the change of energy that swept in through the pack yesterday. And because of that change I'm sure everyone here now feels stronger and more balanced than they ever were. That is because your Alpha has completed the mating bond with his mate!" Everyone shouted and hooted joyously, surprising the heck out of me. "If you honor and respect me as your Alpha then you will do so for my mate, your Luna. You will pledge your life over to hers as you did to mine." Damn. "Even though she's a human, she's the strongest female I know. Her claws might be hidden but best believe when they do come out, they're sharp and deadly." Say what now? "Your Alpha is pleased with his mate and gives thanks to the Goddess for blessing him with her. Are there any objections?" No one said anything. Phew. "Now it's time for everyone to give the acceptance bow." He gave my neck a squeeze then he moved away and shifted to his wolf form. After he did that, everybody followed suit. Lord Jesus! There was like 200 or more werewolves in front of me! I squeezed my hands together trying so hard not to be overwhelmed. Zukile in his wolf form came to stand next to me and I couldn't help but to sink my fingers in his fur which I'm glad I did because it relaxed me a bit. Zukile howled and then the other wolves lowered their heads to me. Zukile howled again and the other wolves joined in and I swear at that moment I felt some kind of power curse through my body. I couldn't be too sure because it came and went as fast as it did. It was like a spark but it had been forceful. As I watched the scene before me I couldn't help but have a strong de'ja vu moment. Like I had seen this scene before. I tried to think where had I but came out blank. After a while of them howling, they shifted back to their human form and shouts and hollers broke out. Everyone was really happy. Like really really happy. Not only could I see it but I could feel it. I couldn't explain it but somehow I felt connected to everybody. It was like there was a thread connecting all of them to me. "Let's celebrate!" He shouted and everyone cheered. And they cheered even more when the handsome man kissed me. I guess we were having a party. And I was the Luna of the Wolverine Pack.
