Chpt. 8 "A Torrent of Emotions"

*Dimensional Infinity Fortress*

            Tanjiro and Kanao readied themselves for their next match. Upper Rank 4. Both slayers raised their swords towards the old man who simply sat there accross the room, quivering in fear. 

Tanjiro: "Do you think he's baiting us?"

Kanao: "Maybe. Perhaps his Blood demon art is range based and he wants us to get up close as quickly as possible."

Tanjiro: "Fine then. In that case."

*Hinokami Kagura: Fake Rainbow*

Everyone except Kokushibo's thoughts: "Where did he-"

             Suddenly Tanjiro appeared behind Hantengu and slash at his neck. To Tanjiro's surprise, not only did his blade reach Hantengu's neck but it actually went all the way through, completely decapitating the Upper rank. Hantengu's head went flying as he cried out in surprise. Though both Tanjiro and Kanao notice that something was off.

Tanjiro's thoughts: "Wait a minute... He isn't decaying... Could he be like Upper 6? Is this another multi unit demon?"

Kanao: "TANJIRO BEHIND YOU!"

Tanjiro: "Wha-?"

                As Kanao began to run towards him, Tanjiro attempted to turn to face whatever it was she was refering to when he felt a gust of air on his back and he was sent flying past Kanao and into the wall behind her by a massive shockwave that send reverberations throughout the entire room. As the balcony above shook from the tremendous rumbling the shockwave caused, Kaigaku and Gyokko struggled to maintain balance while Akaza, Douma, and Kokushibo simply stood there unfazed, as if nothing was happening at all.

Kanao: "Tanjiro!"

                Kanao ran over to Tanjiro's side as he sat against the wall completely disoriented. Kanao quickly deduced that there weren't any major injuries but she was certain that an impact like that would've caused a concussion.

Kanao: "Tanjiro, Are you okay?"

                Tanjiro barely managed to cough out a single word.

Tanjiro: "B-Be-hind..."

Kanao: "Huh?"

              Kanao attempted to turn and was immediately frozen in place as Electricity cascaded through her body causing her to lose control of her limbs as well as send her sight into dissaray. Through her malfunctioning eyesight and the torrent of lightning, Kanao managed to make out two demons, one with a fan which she easily deduced was the one that sent Tanjiro flying walking up to the other demon who had a staff from which the lighting was eminating. 

Kanao's thoughts: "T-The staff... gotta get... the staff..."

???: The hell are you doing just standing there Karaku?! I've got the girl pinned. Crush her with your fan already!

Karaku: "Hey now, take it easy Sekido. Try and have a little fun every once and a while."

Sekido: "Now's not the time for fun, now's the time for killing. We know what these two are capable of so fucking finish them!"

Karaku: "Alright! Alright! Jeez. No need to be such a killjoy."

               Karaku lifted his hand and swung it down, though no shockwave came of it. Karaku and Sekido, both confused, looked to where Karaku's fan should be and realised that his entire hand was missing.

Karaku/Sekido: "What the?"

                  Sekido ceased his lighting barrage which allowed Kanao to drop to the floor, completely numb from all the lightning. Karaku and Sekido turned their heads just in time to the sound of a foot slam onto the ground and saw Tanjiro with a large flaming mark on his head and Karaku's fan in one of his hands. Tanjiro swung the fan down and unleashed a huge shockwave that sent both demon's flying through the wall.
