Chpt. 9 "Resurfacing Memories"

*Dimensional Infinity Fortress Dungeon*

            Kaigaku kneeled down over an unconscious Tanjiro as he bandaged up his wounds just as Kokushibo demanded of him.

Kaigaku: "Tsk. How embarrassing. First these bastards embarrass me in front of the Upper Moons and now Kokushibo's got me serving as their personal nurse. GOD DAMN IT!"

            Kaigaku grabbed a nearby rock and threw it agains the wall, the sound of which caused Kanao to begin to stir, which didn't go unnoticed by Kaigaku who stood up and began walking over to her.

Kanao: "Huh? Are we back in the dungeon?"

             Kanao looked up to see Kaigaku standing over her, looking down at her with pure anger in his eyes.

Kanao's thoughts: "Kaigaku? What's he doing here?"

Kaigaku: "You must really think you're hot shit, huh? Well let me tell you something. There's no way in hell you're winning your next fights. But before you meet certain death. I wanna get some payback."

              Kaigaku proceeded to swing his foot back and kick Kanao square in the stomach, the sheer force of which sent her into the wall. As Kanao hit the ground, she coughed up a concerning amount of blood. Kaigaku simply strolled over to her with a smile on his face.

Kaigaku: "Haha! Now that got me in a good mood. How about some more."

             Kaigaku swung his foot back again and kicked Kanao in the jaw, breaking it and causing more blood to fly out of her mouth. He then kneeled down next to her and lifted her head up by grabbing her ponytail and yanking at it, causing her to cry out in pain.

Kaigaku: "Hey, shut your fucking mouth you bitch."

            Kaigaku threw Kanao's head into the ground, and simply looked down at her with a smug look as blood seeped out of her head. Kaigaku stood up and observed Kanao with a smug look on his face as she weakly croaked out a sentence.

Kanao: "S-Stop... F-Father... stop hitting me... what did I do?"

Kaigaku: "Huh? Father? What, did my kicking give you a bad flashback? Well how about I give you another one."

           Kaigaku began to throw a series of kicks and stomps to Kanao's stomach, sides, and head as she curled up in a defensive manner.

Kaigaku: "Hey, What's the matter? Aren't you a demon slayer? Aren't you related to that Insect Hashira? You gotta have more fight in you than that! Come on! Stand up! Fight me you little wench!"

???: "Leave her alone!"

Kaigaku: "Huh?"

            Kaigaku ceased his barrage of kicks to turn around and saw Tanjiro who had regained conciousness and was standing up (though he had a very noticeable slouch) with a look of pure rage on his face. Kaigaku also notice that Tanjiro's mark was still plastered on his forehead.

Kaigaku: "Heh... So you want some too huh? Very well then. Bring it brat."

            Kaigaku lifted his hands and assumed a boxers stance as Tanjiro did the same. The two stared each other down for a few seconds before they charged each other. Kaigaku went for a right hook which Tanjiro deflected and proceeded to unleash a barrage of rage filled punches at Kaigaku's face. The punches Tanjiro threw were so strong and furious that Kaigaku actually fell on to his back. Tanjiro kneeled on top him and grabbed his collar, lifting his face up only to drill his fist into Kaigaku's face. Tanjiro then threw another punch...
