It's been one week since I've been at my Aunt Cindy's and I was exhausted. Cousin Danny was a real pain in the neck but at the same time the most adorable creature I've laid my eyes on. I had spent the past days putting him to sleep and changing his diapers. I had dark circles under my eyes from the cause of Danny's cries at night. My Aunt finally noticed how fatigue I was and decided we should have break and cool off at the lake. I agreed and we headed out to the store to get sun block because I am extremely protective of my skin, and some snacks, while Uncle Phillip took care of Danny.

After the shopping was done, we drove to the lake. It was a humid day and after seeing the water glisten as the sun rays danced upon it, I wanted nothing but to ripple the image with the impact of my body. I quickly squirmed out of my shorts and T-shirt rubbed on sone sun block and dove in. I started to float on my back as I regarded my surroundings. The trees were beautiful in the sunlight. Aunt Cindy's house fitted perfectly with everything around it. It had a cozy look to it. Aunt Cindy stood near me. She shone in the sunlight. Her hair was bright auburn and her dark blue eyes shone like sapphires

"I hear you've been held up a grade." Aunt Cindy said.
"You've heard correctly." I replied.
"So you're the same grade as your sister now. That must be awkward."
"Yeah, it's kind of weird but we don't see each other much. We only have one class together which happens to be homeroom, and then, we go our separate ways." I explained
"How are you fitting in? Do you like it there?" She asked.
"I get along well. I don't bother anyone and they don't bother me. I've made a few friends and I've also gotten in to the track team. Angela's gotten along real well. She became a cheerleader and she hangs out with the 'cool kids'." I answered.
"That's nice. Now have there been any guys you're interested in." She asked with excitement.
"Ha! Of course not. Honestly I haven't been interested in someone for such a long time I forgot what it felt like. I think I'm becoming a psychopath." I confessed.
My aunt snorted than said, "Trust me you're not a psychopath. You're a psychic."
"Psychic, really? Anyone can do what I can. You just have to work on it. And then, reading people will come easily."
"Why can't you just except that your special."
"The fact that I'm living an ordinary life and I can't do anything about it makes it pretty hard."
"What life do you wanna live?"
"I guess one that fits well with my brain, which means a life where I never know what's gonna happen next."
"I thought you hate not knowing."
"Oh, I do, I really do, but i must admit knowing all the time can be quite boring."
"That's true." Aunt Cindy chuckled.

I only had two days left at my aunts house. Danny had fallen asleep on my lap after I had played and talked to him for awhile. His visage was completely calm and peaceful as his chubby face rested against my chest. I slowly moved him to his crib and then, decided to use my laptop for awhile. I found a surprising email from none other than Jake asking me when I was going to go back home. I replied back and asked him how he got my e-mail. He answered by telling me to get a phone.

On the last day of my visit, Uncle Phillip took us hiking. Baby Danny rose on Aunt Cindy's back, I was in charge of the camera and Uncle Phillip's muscular back was ahead if us leading the way. "Why aren't you taking a lot of pictures?" Uncle asked.
"I don't want to get caught up with picture taking. If I do I won't get to enjoy the life around me. All a camera does is capture an image. It doesn't catch the noises or the feeling around me."
"I suppose you're right." He stated.
"You take all things too seriously." My aunt added.
"Nature should be taken seriously." I replied.
After an hour or two we made our way to the house. I started packing my clothes into my small suitcase. I couldn't help but feeling a little sad. I envied my aunt for living in such an idyllic place and for belonging to such a exuberant family. After dinner, to the living room to play with Danny for one last time. I was going to miss his purity and curiosity. He was such an extraordinary creature.
He only got mesmerized in the little things, like floating dust or bright lights. I enjoyed spending time watching him and wondering what he was thinking about. I could never read babies. It may be because there was nothing to be read about them but I highly doubted that. Soon it was time for me to go to bed. I had to wake up early since I had to get to the station by 7 o'clock in the morning. I surprisingly fell asleep quickly that night.
