I crouched down and squeezed my side. What the hell was that? I looked down and saw football. Who the hell would do that? I tried to stand up straight but more pain shot through my vines. Great, this is just great. I tried one more time to get up slowly. This time I succeeded. I made my way to the door and heard footsteps behind me.

"Hey!" A deep voice called out, "are you ok?" He asked with no sympathy in his voice, which meant he probably threw the ball on purpose.

"Not really." I answered back with a smile on my face. "It hurts pretty bad. By the way, your throw is awful." I said and rushed out of the cafeteria.

I walked down the hallway and stopped in front of two big doors that led to the field. As I got out I started to think.

Why did Jake throw the ball at me on purpose? I mean ya I probably did get on his nerves the day I introduced myself, but still that was pretty harsh.

I headed to the empty track field and started to jog. I happened to be good at gym too.

I closed my eyes and focused on my body

Back straight, elbows bent, nose pointed forward, arms relaxed.

The longer I ran the faster I got. I listened to the thud of my heart in my ears. I felt the air blowing between my hair and gently on top of my scalps. I opened my eyes and focused on my view. Everything was blurry except for the track.

I ran with all my might, feeling the air make way form my speed. I felt spectacular.

Soon, I started to slow down, until I came to a stop. I bent down with my heads on my thighs and started to pant. When I looked up I saw people staring at me.

"Shows over." I called out.

A girl ran up to me and asked, "Where did you learn to run like that?"

I raised my eyebrows and said, "you don't learn how to run. You either have it in you or you don't."

I walked away and the girl jogged after me, "Wait! How would you like to join the track team? I'm the team captain Julie and we're in need for a 400m runner and you seem to be the one."

"I'll think about it." I said quickly.

I quickly turned my back to Julie and jogged to the school. I don't like to be around people and since almost everyone is out I had to go in. I wandered down the senior hallways wanting to discover my new school.

I looked to my right and spotted the computer lab. A few kids were seated in front of the computers probably doing their homework. A kid looked up and saw me, I walked away quickly and ran into the water fountain. I heard laughter from behind me. I didn't turn, for I did not need to know who was laughing nor did I want the person to know who he was laughing at.

"Do you plan to spend your school year as a nobody?" Said the person behind me.

"No," I stated, now knowing who the person behind me was, "just a somebody that no one knows or talks to."

"That's what a nobody is." He said

"What do you want." I said turning to face Jake.

He looked at me with a smile playing upon his lips as he thought of a response. "Nothing, I just thought you'll be one of those who stands up for themselves and who bugs everyone."

He said.

"You mean someone like you." I said looking him straight in the eyes blankly and chuckling.

His golden face turned red as he barred his teeth at me. "You're a waste of time he glared.

"Tell me, why are you wasting you're time with me?" I said walking to him, my eyes flaming.
