I'd rather be somewhere else then where I was at the moment, though I was told that I have patience, my annoyance was on a level that had been bubbling beneath the surface as I watched Roslyn parade around in one after another wedding dresses from Daydream Bridal as I was the only one nobody knew in the bridal party as everyone else knew each other as they all knew Roslyn longer than I have.

I didn't have to come originally but unfortunately I had to as I was more forced than able to dip. As I was just not happy to come like the others who were supporting Roslyn on her big day. Even though it was months before the ceremony and being just twenty-two years old, Roslyn was gonna be more in love than I'd being able to feel anytime soon. Though I wasn't twenty-one yet as that was the legal age to start dating here in Oakheart, there was a small chance of me being placed on her bridal party as like a last minute contender or understudy. But getting to be part of her wedding was given to those who earned it, according to her as she was in charge of it after all.

So granted on my nerves seeing her come in and out of the dressing room with different dresses that had just looked the same. Like for all four times in different styles of wedding gowns, I was just wanting to leave. "So what do you guys think of this one.." she came out of the dressing room and twirled in one of the five now wedding gowns she had picked out, and before I could say a word she was beginning to retell the story of how she and my father met to everyone, everyone even including the bridal consultant to the bridal party and to the other shoppers. I couldn't help but feel like a pawn in her game, just standing and being unplayed and being silent until called upon.

The only thing in her story that didn't make sense to me was her and my father having a maroon glow heart. Since once you turn twenty-one in our town, you see colors of people's hearts and find out who your soulmate is. Since before the late twenty-first century not everyone had that same thing to see as it was like a condition. I however was close in age to almost see the colors but I happened to be months away from knowing more beyond it. "You look wonderful Roslyn..", "Thank you but..Just imagine me and Marco dancing on the dance floor. Oh can you imagine Marigold, in this dress showing the symbol of the maroon glow, it just seems like a perfect ever after." She smiled as I felt disgusted, she had then twirled in the dress that seemed to be more fit for a fairy tale than reality hence her saying she found her perfect ever after. "Again it's Mariah, not Marigold, Roslyn.." I reminded her as everyone gave me that sort of nickname but only she kept calling me by it. She had laughed in frustration as the others also laughed. "Right. Anyways. Thoughts everyone?"

"Looks like the rest of them..minus the aspect of the rose petals attached to the edges.." I said as she looked away from me as everyone else said they said it was made for her. She then smiled as I felt useless and never understood just because I wasn't the one getting married. And also knowing nothing other than the age when you learn about the colors and the glow of our hearts when we meet our soulmate. I just had to keep myself calm as the testing to know was just in a few months. Then I could be on the same page as everyone else and to know who has the maroon glow for me and who I may glow for.
