"What..on.." I was speechless. Somehow in five short seconds we were in The Magicians Cove but the question on my mind was how. I looked around as it looked like a normal cafe but with the theme of like an ocean as it had teal covered seats and seashells hanging on the wall. Then a guy walked up to us, "Hello there..Welcome to The Magician Cove..I am Dominic..", "Nice to see you Dom.." He smiled at Jacob, "How long has it been Jacob..", "Way too long.." both laughed as he took us to our seats, "I heard this is your first time. Am I right?" he looked at me as I nodded, "It is..", "Well welcome. I know for sure you get used to it time after time..it's truly a magical place to be at.." We took our seats as Jacob thanked Dominic as he walked away as he looked at me. "So what do you think..""It is surely something I haven't seen before..so I'd say it is interesting looking." he nodded as a waiter came by, "Hello my name is Greyson I will be taking care of you this evening, have you two thought about what you would like to drink?", "I will just take a Mars Rush..and for the lady..she'll have..umm..just Seawater for now.." Greyson nodded and left. I looked at him strange as he then mentioned that the drinks he had ordered weren't what they were like. But more of a nickname as Seawater was just tap water and his drink was basically root beer with more of a vanilla and chocolate taste combined. It was quite strange for the name but maybe that is what made it magical. That was until our drinks appeared on the table and I had freaked out spilling the so-called Seawater drink.
"I-I am so sorry.." he laughed, "Hey. It's okay..look.." I looked at the stain as it had begun to be absorbed into the tablecloth and faded away. "I-I.." I was speechless as a refill came, this time I didn't spill it. "This is why it's called The Magician Cove," he smiled, "It is a place where magic is used by almost everyone who works here as it is like being undercover as a supernatural. So they hide under the name of those performers called magicians.", "Oh.." I laughed slightly as he took my hand and smiled, "So how would you like to celebrate your late birthday..as yesterday seemed to not go as planned.." I looked at him strangely, "Well..I am not sure. What are you thinking.." We continued to talk about some ideas we had in mind for how to celebrate. Though out of the blue, food appeared on the table. It didn't startle me but it had me thinking. I didn't remember ordering anything, so why was there food on the table? Then Greyson came back, "So tonight we have fried live squid rolls for you, Jacob. And Coast to Coast rolls without avocado for Mariah.." I know I should get over the hate feeling of being called by my first name and all, as all it does is remind me of that horrid memory of my mom deciding to name me after her sister. Now of Colton announcing it to Jacob and Rosemary. I groaned in frustration.
"Oh, was there supposed to be avocado?", "My name isn't Mariah..it's Maya.." I locked eyes with him. I felt heated again but this time because of my anger as I couldn't look away to cool down. It was like I needed to get all of my anger out. Though the strangest thing happened when I blinked. My vision turned to the color of bright blood red. That was strange. "Dude?! You brought one in here?!" I hear him yell as I look around with the red vision seeing people stare. He then laughed nervously, "Why on earth would you bring one of the few Nephalem in here?! And having it be alive in the human world is even worse!?" he whispered in anger.
"You think this is my fault.." he whispered, "I honestly had no clue. Seriously..I've only known her for two days..but you know the reversal process..so why are you standing there Greyson!?" Greyson ran off to get whatever the solution may be as Jacob came close to me. I then saw him running back with a lemon as Jacob had cut it in half and grabbed my water. He squeezed the lemon in the water and stirred it up. "Drink this.."
"She's not gonna drink it. Just pour it." Greyson took it from him and began to pour it on my head as it then went in my eyes. My eyes sting in pain. "Ah!" I screamed, wiping my eyes dry as the redness vision went away. It was like the power and warmth feeling had also faded away as I had felt cold. "What happened..why does my hair feel like it's been soaked with water.." He moved his chair next to me while taking off his jacket and gave it to me. "Well. I should have probably mentioned this before but there are things called hybrids in the supernatural world. And it seems to me you may be one. You're a hybrid called a Nephalem. Which is a cross between a demon and angel combined into one soul. They have separate personalities but take over whenever the mood is shaken up. We may have found your trigger which is being called by your first name. Which is odd." "Odd?" he nodded,"Yes but don't think much of it as you're very lucky, as when I saw your wings, I saw that you're more of an angel than a demon. As they were pure white." I looked at him, "What are the other signs? Is there any other proof?" He held my arm and compared it to his."If you look at the veins that are colored it gives a clue. Like mine is light red as yours supposed to be light gray blue like everyone else in the supernatural world..but adding the fact you're a Nephalem yours is a purplish color.." I noticed the purplish color as Greyson walked over and handed me a towel, "I just want to say that I am sorry Greyson..", "Hey. It's okay. I know what it's like to lose my cool.." We both laughed as he left.
"So what is with the lemon water?", "Well the lemon water is like a prevention to bring back your demon side from coming back..temporarily though. As Demons tend to hate lemons just like vampires hate garlic and wooden stakes," Everything he seemed to mention was like the folklore tales that were once told to me seemed to be true. I leaned my head on his shoulder and took a few breaths. He seemed to have every answer I could ask for any question. He made me feel comfortable and less nervous than I once was when I first encountered him.
