As instructed by the principal, Ron was allowed to attend school again. But, sadly, Bob wasn't allowed to attend school. Ron guessed he had to survive a day without Bob constantly by his side.
The two hadn't spoken to each other as well. Little Man had called Ron some time after Ron got back, since he found it quite odd that their online group chat was suddenly silent, but Ron gave a vague response as to what happened.
Ron hoped that his class would forget what had happened the day before, and everything would go back to the way it was. However, just a measure, he decided to walk to school instead of taking the bus as he normally would.
When he stepped through the doors of his school, everyone was chatting loudly. Ron smiled to himself a little. Maybe they did forget. But he was wrong.
A schoolmate noticed him walk past and glared at him, before whispering to his friend. Ron felt something wasn't right and his smile disappeared instantly.
It seemed like everyone was glaring at him and whispering things to one another. Ron but his lip in concern. Soon enough, he noticed his group of friends at the corner, laughing and talking. Since Bob wasn't in school, he figured to talk to his other friends instead.
"Hey!" he waved, smiling at them. Instead of the usual greeting, one of them glared at him. "Please. Ron. Did you hear what happened? Everyone knows what happened yesterday. It spread as soon as you left the class."
Ron's heart dropped. "W-what are you talking about?" he stammered, pretending not to know anything. "Don't try to deny it! Everyone knows about you turning into some folder freak in class, don't you know?? And that your other friend hit one of your classmates too!"
Ron stepped back a little, taken aback by his friend's yelling. "Yeah, that's right. Everyone knows it now. Can't believe you have this strange thing going on, jerk." With that, another friend stepped in and pushed Ron onto the ground, knocking his sunglasses off his head and landing on the floor.
"Weirdo. Why did we become friends with you?"
With that, the group left laughing to themselves. Everyone else laughed too as they returned to their classes, leaving Ron to weep on the floor.
He gave a soft sniff and put his sunglasses on before heading to class. Grabbing a tissue from his bag, he dried his tears before entering the classroom. His classmates stared at him to the point where Ron felt like disappearing from their sight.
During the lesson, Ron felt himself ignoring the teacher's words and tried to concentrate, but to no avail. Lunch was even worser, since he was forced to sit alone and people were giving their usual looks towards him. Finally, when the bell rang, he dashed outside the school, trying to avoid people looking at him.
If he couldn't survive today, he didn't think he could survive the next few days. Weeks. Months. It was a painful to think about.
When Ron got back, he dumped his bag in his room and took out his skateboard. Only the people in his school knew about his second form, at least that's what he figured. Maybe he could go to the skate park and take his mind off the situation. Yelling to his mother that he was going to the park, he ran off.
As he approached the park, he hoped no one from school would be there. It seemed like it. Ron heaved a sigh of relief as he walked towards the benches, but something caught his eye.
No. Not them!
The three friends from school were there chatting among themselves. Ron hoped with all his heart that they would not notice him but they did anyway.
"Hey! What are you doing here?!" yelled one of them, angrily. The other people at the park looked at the sudden commotion, wondering what was going on.
He walked towards Ron and pushed him onto the floor as more people arrived. Ron's skateboard landed on the floor with a thud.
Another friend yanked the sunglasses from Ron and broke it in half. "You think you're so cool to still have this huh?" he smirked, tossing it aside. Ron tried his best not to cry, but the tears were forming.
"Oh is this your skateboard?" he asked Ron. "Too bad, you're not cool enough to own one, freak!"
He stepped on it and a loud cracking sound came up.
"My skateboard!!!" Ron cried out, the tears falling from his eyes.
The broken skateboard fell down with a thud, followed by the laughter of the friends. Ron tried not to cry again but he couldn't control his tears.
"Crybaby."
The group left him alone, leaving Ron to stare at the broken sunglasses and skateboard.
How did it lead to this?
