Woe, that too late repents.

Ameena stepped into the bathroom quietly. She started at the steamed silhouette of her face in the mirror. It was clear as day that she had taken the wrong step.

When she was first recruited, she wanted to quit, to run away. But a part of her enjoyed the rush that came with the secrecy, the chance to be someone else. Scratch that! She loved every bit of it. And it scared her. The consequences of meddling in someone's life.

She was scared now, as she made her way into Ren's life.

Her finger was closed over the dial button. She was poised, ready to call. Then she paused and thought about the way he had made her feel at the exhibition. It was as if her proximity to his presence left her with a fuzzy sensation that prevented her from thinking clearly.

"It's not real," she said out loud to herself. "It's not real."

At the last moment, she changed the key to make her next move.

It was cold outside, people had covered themselves in warm jackets and caps.

When she arrived at the study hall that evening, Gorya dressed in blue was already there. One hand was resting on her forehead while the other held a notebook. Books are stacked on the seat beside her.

Ameena stood in place for a good two minutes reminding herself, that Rosebud would contact her soon and that progress needed to be made. Secretly aware the Gorya had noticed she continued to walk further before taking a seat.

Her eyes fixed on the laptop screen, Ameena pretended to keep working while waiting for Gorya to reach her.

"I will pay money to find out what you are thinking."

After regaining her focus, Ameena glanced up to see Gorya staring at her with a poker face. They looked at each other, and Ameena shrugged her shoulders.

"Nothing, just lost in my own world. How are things at college?" Ameena replied tapping the seat next to her for Gorya to sit.

"Is it your intention to shoo me away? " Gorya made a face.

The opposite actually!

"It is good that I saw you. An event company I know is looking for freelancers to employ at an event next week. You should try it."
