In the corridor, Ameena was on the phone, trying to persuade her roommates to stop eating her late-night munchies. Ren strolled right past her, checking his watch like he wanted time to stop and it DID for Ameena as she felt his presence sweep over her.

Her footsteps followed him into the Literature class, her phone slowly moving away from her ear.

As the wind blew, a few pages of her notepad lay open on the table, with the name "Rosebud" scrawled all over them.

She didn't move. She stood by the door still watching him from afar.

Quickly reviving from her stupor she sprinted to her desk, slapping the book shut. Shoot!

The sound made Ren look up from his own, Ameena nervously smiled back into those inquiring eyes.

"Rida ate your chocolates" a voice screamed from the phone, causing her to realize she hadn't hung up.

"I need to go, the class is about to start" She cut the call and looked at him.

He had gone back to his book as if nothing had passed between them a while ago.

"Why do you help her? " he asked, breaking Ameena's train of thought. "She's not your friend exactly."

"Someone just knocked down the jar of jealousy, I smell it all over." she retorted much to her own amusement.

Gorya's rejection of the offer didn't surprise Ameena. Gorya's respect for Ren's opinion would outweigh anything else.

Ren maintained his gaze, not knowing how to react to the outburst.

Thankfully the professor had walked in to save the awkwardness.

"Let's start with the roll call."

She felt his gaze on her the whole time.

At the end of the lesson, she went out of her way to stop him, causing a few heads to turn in their direction.

"I got angry earlier. That wasn't necessary. To answer your question...She is like me,  trapped in a world where she doesn't belong, bound by love, amid you wealthy people. I helped her because I wanted to!"

Ameena opened her mouth as if to say something else but then closed it again and shook her head slowly instead. After a moment's silence, she spoke again:

"If in the past she has been hurt or betrayed by people who pretended to be nice she can tell me so herself. You are not her Knight. "

Despite the fact that her intentions were not pure, Ameena was holding back a lot of thoughts.

She had ulterior motives, but when she offered to help Gorya something within her said this girl deserved it.
